Emerged from the dazed suburban sprawl of Orange County, California, Cosmonauts are drone pop melody-makers propelled by hypnotic fuzz. Formed in the summer of 2009 by Alexander Ahmadi and Derek Cowart, Cosmonauts are a perfect example of the meaning of rock'n'roll in southern California in the 21st century. They claim to be inspired equally by polo shirts and MDMA, and their reputation is flawless, earning respect from touring with acts such as The Growlers, Black Angels, Ty Segall, Thee Oh Sees and many more, and thanks to live shows played with amps at maximum volume and lysergic lullabies that melt the brains of the audience. Acclaimed as the Beach Boys on morphines, 'Persona Non Grata' confirms it: with an increasingly expansive sound Cosmonauts cling to tense developments and forcefully rhythmic drone, reflecting more than ever the spirit of Sonic Boom. 'Persona Non Grata' is their third full album, and the fourth release for the label Ayo Silver! after selling out their three previous references (Night Beats, Growlers and the previous album of Cosmonauts themselves).
