Academy in Brooklyn is a must. In the city, Generation is also pretty good, as are Kim's & Other.
There's Academy Records, Earwax, Soundfix and a lot more in Williamsburg. St Marks in the city + Generation Records are not bad. Have fun
Hiya,
I´m off to NY on monday and need some suggestions on record shops to visit there? Going to Boston as well so if you know of one there worth visiting, bring it on!
Cheers!
I saw Lenny Kaye, and he did a great show. I'm going to post a few pictures in my photo section.
BTW, I also saw a really good blues band from Brooklyn that night called Daddy Long Legs. They're a trio, with one guy on vocals and harmonica, another on acoustic guitar, and another on drums. They're young white guys who make you feel like you're in a juke joint along the Mississippi Delta. I think they stood at the crossroads one night;)

who is playing thee Parkside tonight?
Many many of us. I'd suggest going to Bender's tonight (806 S. Van Ness @ 19th St) for a good garage show, or Thee Parkside (1600 17th St. @ Wisconsin) for a solid punk night (which is where I'll be). Next weekend there's my little birthday bash at Bender's ( http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=224865607554009 Sat 10/1 8pm) At any of these shows, come say hello.
I am new to the San Francisco Bay Area....looking around to see what is going on around here...who else is in this area?

A couple of our Hideout Comp Series bands, Youthbitch & the Fast Takers, are from Portland, too. As is Scott "Deluxe" Drake. Just sayin'.
Also the band, Don't, at the Know 9/23, featuring Sam Henry on drums, from the Wipers :)
The Slutty Hearts at Tonic Lounge on Oct 6th!
yes, me too! there are some really great bands in Portland right now, and the NW, in general: Freedom Club, Therapists, Unnatural Helpers, and lots of good shows at The Know on NE Alberta.
What's going on in Portland, OR for surf, garage, & cars that's worthy of breaking out the leopard shirt & Fez? Interested in shows, art or anything related.
At the moment, he's only looking to possibly trade merch like the band's record and a spot into the show, otherwise he's doing it for free (though if you want the posters printed and mailed, shipping and printing will be at your expense).
Does he charge? If so, how much for a basic poster?
Hey!
I know someone who is looking to do more show flyers and other artwork. Please contact him at coffeeshophorror@gmail.com if you are interested.
