Is this going on? I would really love to get involved in this.
Hey there!
In Elevators are going to be touring the northeast corridor in June! The dates are: 6/8-Kent, OH; 6/9-Dayton, OH; 6/11-New Paltz, NY; 6/12-Portland, ME; and more to come! Drop by pinetreerecords.com for more details!
Stay Gold!
Wish we new about it earlier. We would have begged to play it. It's right in our back yard. I'm sure to make it. The bands look great.
That looks like a great time! If we didn't already have plans, we'd drive up from Baltimore for it. Please keep us in mind when you're picking bands for next year.
Hey guys ! If your in PA , check my page for the annual Astromonkey BBQ . It's all day , food , beer , bands , car/cycle show . And this is the 11th year !
thanks Shimmy !
Can't wait to be there !
depends on what you're looking for, but there are tons of vintage stores in NYC. Coming from France, it might actually be cheap for you (!)... Besides the ones Charles mentioned, there's Stella Dallas on N 6th in Williamsburg. It's pretty big and not too expensive. There's also Guvnor's on 5th Avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn (south of Williamsburg a bit).
i hate shopping for clothes too, but i was hoping to easily find some good stuffs there... anyway that's not a priority !
Nothing is cheap in NYC. Everything is overpriced. For cheap stuff you have to leave the city and go somewhere else.
There are some vintage clothing shops that have OK prices, like Metropolis in Astor Place and Mystery Train in Williamsburg.
In Williamsburg there are a couple places that might have something good, but they get picked through so often that you never know what you'll find. Beacon's Closet and Buffalo Exchange are really well known second hand clothing shops. Walking down and around Bedford Ave there are random clothing shops. I actually hate shopping for clothes, so I do it once a year and it's usually on the internet, so I'm not an expert on it.
There are some really great vintage clothing shops that carry really cool shit, but the prices are insane.
Maybe someone else on here knows of more places to check out.
Is there some cool cheap clothing shop ? like used clothes, flea market ?
I do live in Brooklyn, but Brooklyn is HUGE!
All right ! i got a 7" for you.
you don't live in brooklin?
anyway i 'm waiting for some news from Christophe, tell him to send me a message !
Yeah, I'll most likely be at that show. Union Hall is pretty nice. It's in a semi-posh neighbourhood that is a little hard for me to get to by train, so I very rarely go there, but I've played and seen some great shows there. They have bocce on the ground floor, which is good for killing time if you get to the show too early.
all right ! so not this pub ! i've already got a lot of places to try !
I think i'll go to the Dirty Lungs, The Above, Tyburn Saints show on wednesday 8 at union hall . Will you be there?
it seems to be a nice venue.
The food isn't good and it's expensive. It's cool for kids, but it's not really something your going to enjoy as an adult. That company owns 3 places in Manhattan: Jekyll & Hyde Club, Jekyll & Hyde Pub, and The Slaughtered Lamb.
I went to the Slaughtered Lamb once, just to see what it was like, and it angered me just how bad it was. haha
I have friends who have gone to the other places and say they're just as bad.
If you REALLY want to check it out to have a weird story, then go for it, but I'd honestly skip those places.
I found the name of the horror restaurant :
Jekyll and Hyde Restaurant and Bar
is it worth a try ??
