    • Heyy

Lost our guitarist on June 25th

He has a job with the government and he turned into a flake.

Totally ruined our summer as we're canceling dates left and right, and are in limbo with an August 1st recording start-date.

And Craiglist sucks. Craig sucks. His list sucks.

Anyone here in the Brooklyn/Queens/Nassau County area who wants to take up the challenge and rock the fuck out??

      check us out at

      www.myspace.com/theuppertiers

we can talk about the experimental hardcore we're working on in rehearsals too, if you like flipper and nomeansno

    • Oh Ya, Check out The Tower Bar for a pint of Oly, or a can of Hamm's. Many a garage band have blasted the walls out of that joint (as did a car once way back in the days). Early '60's b-movies and soft-core on the 12" Zeniths in the corner and a greasy DJ spinnin 45's to FUZZ out to. If that doesn't complete your night, maybe a tattoo from the shop upstairs will...?

    • Just a few suggestions; For Food-Hash House (Bring an appetite), For Music-Casbah (Bring Ear Plugs), For Girls-Garnet in PB (Bring Condoms)...Wait, you're married? Stay outta PB.

    • Going to San Diego all next week for a safety seminar and have never been there. Any good dives, record shops, eateries I should check out? I seminars end at 4:30 so I have a evening to mess around. If you know of some place, let me know!

      Thanks

    • Hey I'm new in town and I'm looking to join a garage rock band in Charlotte. I'm 33 and have a family, so  I'm not looking to take over the world. I want to write songs, practice, play some show and dabble in recording. I'm just looking to get out of the house and have fun.

You can hear samples of my past bands at:

    • Drunkzilla, Check out Craigslist for postings. In my case, I am looking to move to North Carolina. I'm the type of person that doesn't like to waste time so I am trying to get my claws in the best I can. But, most recently I've checked out Craigslist. You will be amazed how many postings you can find of people who want to be in bands or people who are looking for members to join their bands.

    • If you got nothin' to do on Sunday for the 4th, or even if you do, come down to Ash St & Grand - Block party at East End with grillin', beer, fireworks, and surprise performance day shows with several bands.  At 9 in the bar: HUNX AND HIS PUNX, plus MEERCAZ, PIERCED ARROWS & HARLEM.  Gonna be a good one, come down!  Cheap cover!

    • Got this in an email:

Regressive Films is looking for an actress for our new film already in production. Ages 18-25 but needs to look high school age and have a "punk" look/style. Needed for roughly 5 or 6 shooting days over summer (mostly weekends) in Chicago. No pay, just pizza. A great opportunity to be in a feature length film. Send headshots, etc to info@regressivefilms.com

    • I don't know why I wrote "my" mummies website as I don't have one. I meant THE Mummies website as it's faster than searching through ticketswest.

    • June 26, 2010 3:09 PM CDT
    • Shit. Thanks for the information about it. I live in Portland and had no idea.

    • June 26, 2010 2:51 PM CDT
    • I figured it out. Thanks anyway. Go to Mummies website and it'll take you to ticketswest. Better to go through my Mummies website so you don't have to waste time searching.

    • I'm starting to reconsider NOT going since I have a friend who I got hooked on this stuff and he's never seen them....SOOOOOO, is this an advanced tickets kind of deal and if so from where. Or should I look up Dante's and August 20th on line in one of the search engines (Bing, Google, whatevah)?

    • Don't play Cicero's. Jam band/crap modern alt-rock central. Have you tried Off Broadway? That's my first choice. After that, The Wedge, Crack Fox, the Fox Hole (Atomic Cowboy), the Library (in Soulard), and if worse comes to worse (but ONLY if worse comes to worse), Lemmons or the Way Out Club. dick scum said:
