    • Here is the latest podcast of the live Brood of the Mau Mau show on Pirate Cat Radio in San Francisco.

If you happen to be a native of the Bay Area or Los Angeles you can tune into Pirate Cat Radio on 87.9. If yer adventurous, you can come into the Cafe on 21st and Florida in the Mission District in San Fran to tell me that you want to hump my leg. Either way, tune in and enjoy the trashiness that is DJ Voodoo Idol.

      Disclaimer:
The world Fuck is predominately used.
Horse Dicks, Sonia Sotomayor's Breasts, and OVI is involved. Minor poweroutrage happened in the studio as well.

    • Hello all, Leon Catfish here of the Guilty Hearts (myspace.com/theguiltyhearts)
I am looking to relocate to the Washington DC area in November and decided to put the word out here, since I'd hate to live with lame folk. Please, let me know if you know of anyone cool in DC who is looking for a room mate. Also, job leads would be awesome! (I'm a graphic designer)

      thanks for your time.

    • that sounds so cheesily mysterious ...... "super special secret......." the truth is we invited Sonic Youth to come play. It is not out of the range of possibility...... they played a warehouse show here a few years ago and one of my roommates was part of making it happen, and they are playing the Ogden that night, so you never know IT COULD HAPPEN!!! And we invited Dressy Bessy to play too! So that's the big surprise musical guests........ maybe??????

    • My favorite local bands: Snake Mountain, the Omens, Dressy Bessy, Dario Rosa, the Velveteen Loveseat, Get Three Coffins Ready, the Nicotine Fits, Pacific Pride, and my little own band Bluebelle!. Wide variety of rock n roll here, but all awesome bands that i thing would fit generally in the range of 'garage punk'

THE OMENS - "You Can't Come Back" from The Omens on Vimeo.

The Bar Bar is about as dive as you can get!!! DO NOT leave your wallet on the table / bar. When they have a show here it is LOUD, FREE, and FUCKING AMAZING. 21st and Champa, downtown, and you can smoke there! Get Three Coffins Ready is an amazing surf instrumental band, and they host a dj night every tuesday at the Three Kings Tavern, 60 S. Broadway, called GRINDHOUSE TUESDAYS. They show movies and sometimes have bands, and i think it's always free for the ladies. Eddie from the Omens dj's at the Sputnik at 7 S. Broadway on Wednesday nights. THE LION'S LAIR......... used to be the coolest little dive bar you'd ever wanna drink $1PBRs in...... things are a little different now, but it is still worth checking out, the façade outfront is amazing! AND! John Doe is playing there this Tuesday night! The place is tiny, capacity 75 I think, and I have seen John Doe there before (I think he is friends with the owner) and it is not a show to miss!!!! I bet the mayor John Hickenlooper is there, as he is a huge X fan, and is known to throw back a few shots at local dive bars from time to time! September 10th Davilla666 is playing the Larimer Lounge, at 27th and Larimer. And September 22 Thee oh sees are playing there too..... I'm having a party next Friday night!!!!! the MANXX are going to play, plus super special secret suprise musical guests!!! and it's gonna just be an awesome rock n roll night, so please come by! it's Friday the 31st, and I live at 2232 Lawrence St. Unit B and come say hI!

    • If you read the last bulletin, Dale Phillips, Girl Trouble bass player had his house ripped off last night. We are giving the list of what was taken just in case you may come across this stuff. The one that is killing Dale the most is the loss of his 60s Venture's model Moserite bass with the autographs of Ventured Nokie Edwards, Bob Bogle and Don Wilson.

They even took the old Peavey amp that Dale played for many years before he retired it. He wrote "Gosh Darnit" in white paint on the side.

We'll also post the items on the main page of our myspace. Please spread the word about these lost items and Dale wants to thank everybody for all the support.

    • Hi all, I'm Mike. I'm a film director and photographer. I'm putting together a DVD of original short films, pin-up vignettes, and other whacked shit of mine into a compilation DVD. In addition to my original films, I want to feature and showcase great, garagepunk bands from the SouthEast US (where I'm from) who are kicking ass and taking names. Your video will be slammed onto a DVD that features my work which is heavily inspired by exploitation movies, Russ Meyer, and rock-n-fucking-roll. What I'd really like to do is create original music videos for/of these bands to include in this DVD. I'm a huge fan of garagepunk. There are great bands out there who need maximum exposure and I just want to do my part to help out. I'm looking for BADASS bands in the Southeast US as I'm in Nashville, Tenn. Ideally, bands would come to Nashville for a day, 2 days max, and make the video. When I say video, I'm talking bad ass video. Shot on film, HD video, Super 8, Super 16, the possibilities are endless. I'm willing to put my blood, sweat, and tears into this. Therefore, it's going to be something that will stand the test of time and something to proudly stand behind as great music video creative. I'll foot the production bill. All you need to do is foot your travel and expenses. My dream is to take my films and original content and scatter them with great garagepunk bands of today, who are burning up the Southeast. In exchange for letting me produce your video at my expense, all I ask is that you give me permission to include the resulting music video on my DVD to help spread the word about your band, your work, and your music. What do you think? I need all the help and leads I can get. I believe in community. We're all in this together. Mike http://www.thumbin.com ps - I'm currently directing "Cyclone", my latest short film shot in Super 16mm. Want to know more? Check out my site.

    • Hey! I'm posting this for a friend:

Gigging original band in New Jersey seeks accomplished, energetic second guitarist. Strong rhythm and lead capabilities. Someone well-versed in raunchy rock'n'roll, punk, rockabilly and country. We like and listen to The Stooges, Gun Club, Rolling Stones, Beasts of Bourbon, Cramps, Mad Daddys, Sonics, Jet Black Berries, Godfathers, Stax, Johnny Cash. Team player, attitude and style a must.
