    • Great Idea!  I sent a link to this page to my friend who owns TWANG! Recordings out of Toronto.  I'm sure he'd be interested in some grassroots promotion.

    • This thread is actually a fantastic idea, i'll contribute for Windsor

Milk Coffee Bar - Pretty small, great staff, dim lit, small stage, makes for a good personal show

Contact Owner Angelo with his facebook: http://www.facebook.com/milkcoffeebar

The Phog Lounge - Smaller than milk, rated number one venue in canada or some shit
      Contact Tom Lucier, facebook: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=603168324&ref=ts

The Coach And Horses - Great underground venue, because it's literally underground! It's the basement to another venue called the FM Lounge, and on top of that i believe is The Loop, but that place is just for DJs and Hip Hop artists i think. The coach mostly does metal shows, played there before, you feel like you're in a medieval bar or some shit being here.
      Email: thecoach_horses@hotmail.com

Or check em out on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/thecoach.windsor

The Blind Dog - was once the "high point" of Windsor, was where all the so called "big names" played. Like the cancer bats, lights, protest the hero, napalm death, etcetera blah blah blah. Anyway, it's not functioning anymore, suspected arson. Well definite arson, what kind of random blaze starts in every corner of the venue? Dumbasses. They replaced it with the..
Dominion House - Just started taking on shows, is filling the shoes of the blind dog, many of the touring acts have changed their stops from the smoldering shit ass blind dog to the DH!

Facebook has any info you'd need: http://www.facebook.com/theDominion.House

Villains Beastro - The most badass place in Windsor, everything is based on famous villains. I'd imagine if you walked in dressed up as a famous villain they'd give you cheap drinks.

      Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/villainsbeastro

You'd think with all of these venues that Windsor would be a bustling music city, lolnope.

There's a very close-knit community of music lovers, and they're the musicians themselves.

      Okay... I'm done

    • My friend's name is Carl Petzelt.  He is a former member of a band called 'The Sinisters' and a long time Recording Engineer.  He and I both think he'll be perfect for the job!  Here is his fb profile facebook.com/carl.andre.petzelt and his email  twangrecords@hotmail.com    I hope this works very well for you!  He would like you to send him some demo's, so he has an idea of what he'll be working with.

      Cheers!  -Pete

    • They were amazing as always here in London on the 7th....they'll be back again sometime next year. By that time, you should be old enough to see them.

Here's an idea, if you have a good local record store (not a chain store) that is willing to have bands play in the store, you could always try  and arrange for cool bands who are in town, to play a short early eve or afternoon show (provided they are willing). Pack ad have played at Grooves Records here in London a couple of times and had fun...we had The Hook Up play live at Grooves a few weeks back, there'll be some youtube video on that one eventually...usually the bands sell merch to make it worthwhile... And we had Joe Shithead do a set at Grooves just the other day too!!

I have audio recordings of some of these shows, haven't figured out how to put it up on the garagepunk hideout.

    • October 20, 2011 12:02 PM CDT
    • They were just at the phog in windsor last night, but due to the whole "law" thing that canada has going on, I couldn't see them because im only 18.

I think they're awesome, but i would've loved to see them live, how are they?

    • October 17, 2011 5:48 PM CDT
    • LOL...that's funny Jeb! Hope they put on as good of a show in Ottawa as they did here in London a week or so ago.

    • October 16, 2011 7:01 PM CDT
    • I'm a fan!  Heading off shortly to see them here in Ottawa.  I must be a fan, cuz it's Sunday night, and it takes a lot to get me out on a Sunday.

    • The Pack AD (Vancouver 2 piece on Mint Records) are on tour again (do they ever stop?) and just played here (London ON) a week or so ago and put on another killer show!

So are any of you hideout members fans of this band? Or are they too mainstream for you guys and gals? Just curious...

    • Dionysus Records released the Winnipeg Riot compilation, an all Winnipeg CD comp, put together by the amazing artist Darren Merinuk. This was released a few years back and is the coolest of the Winnipeg combos that were around at that time...Darren has GREAT taste in music and art!

Yup, that's a solid comp, and Darren rules very hard. I suggest checking out his blog for updates on the goodness he cranks out: http://intherubberroom.blogspot.com/
You may have noticed that he did the Noises From the Hideout comp cover!
