Thanks Fuzzmeister for mentioning the Lurkers. I'd surfed through 10 pages of comments in utter disbelief that nobody (Gringo... shame on you especially - the rest of your list ROCKS) included band that brought the world "Shadow", "Jenny", "Self-destruct" and the massive, "Be My Prisoner". Not to mention the Lurkers were the first release on Beggar's Banquet Records.
I'll put "Shadow" up against I'm "Stranded" any day of the week.

In the summer of 76, I purchased "RAMONES" (unheard...just taking a chance). Loved it so much that when I went to college that fall, I roadtripped up to NY and CBGB's to see them. Changed my life. For that reason it's my favorite of the whole era.

This was really the saddest news...going to see Watt tonight with Banyan. Must be tough to keep on keepin' on after such a tragic loss.
What a big drag. He was a hero to me, pure guitar genius.

One of Elvis Presley's more eccentric eating habits was his ability to eat four bowls of Shredded Wheat at one sitting.
He was also convinced that he could turn the Graceland sprinkler systems on and off by the power of his thoughts.
One of his very favorite pasttimes was to visit the Memphis morgue at night and did this quite frequently.
He was a full on freak, especially at the end. I feel sorry for the guy - though. He couldn't go anywhere without the "Memphis Mafia" and was just a really sheltered lonely guy... He could have changed things but I think Colonel Parker had him in his grip too firmly and Elvis was extremely loyal. Colonel Parker, a man who started out making chickens dance on hot-plates for $$.
