Can't wait 'til they come to Bedford Co. Tennessee!

Weird! In the article Mike posted i don't agree with "fortysomethings jumping around in Halloween outfits would, uh, “stain the brand” a bit." Ofcourse they should be in mummies outfits!! Hope they've still got it!!
What a spoiler, like finding out that Hong Kong Phooey was a janitor. :-)
Still the best fucking band members since The Sonics though!
Great photos, especially the dismantled farfisa.
fuckin. jealous.
From the pictures they can still go wild, just not crazy...weird seeing 'em sans-toilet paper wrap.

Trent's a midget now? And when did Larry turn into Greg Cartwright?
Here's a little write up on the show. http://detailedtwang.blogspot.com/2008/06/i-watched-mummies-reunion.html
Oh dear, they should put the bandages back on!
Photos of the Mummies (playing under the name Scarecrow & the Corn Shuckers) are on the GaragePunk.com Flickr group pool. Here's one:
When I first heard this I thought it was one of them newfangled mash-up songs. It sounds like Ricky Nelson vs. The Blues Magoos. But it turns out, this version of "Summertime was recorded in 1962 -- four or five years before the Magoos' "We Ain't Got Nothin' Yet." You ahe to wonder if they stole their famous riff from Ricky. I found this on the Crud Crud blog. The MP3 is HERE
Woo - friggin' - Hoo!!
My favorite King Khan band... period.

I don't know. But I dig "I Dig Girls"!
The Heard: same group that released a single or two on Musicland USA? Probably not.
there's a great part in "End Of The Century", a documentary about the Ramones, in which they talk about playing London very early on and Joe Strummer, Johnny Rotten and others sort of weasled their way in to talk to them - this was before any of them had formed punk bands... anyways I'll have to catch it. I love documentaries.
awesome...
thanks for posting!
Great interview, Billy is an extremely interesting and talented guy, thanks for the link
All very interesting especially that he feels an affinity with the Dadaists( artists such as John Heartfield, George Grosz and many others) I can see that having read about them at college many moons ago.

I've got kind of an unusal blog. It deals mainly with music -- and I write an awful lot about the stuff we all love here in the Hideout -- as well as New Mexico politics, which I'm sure most of you care a lot about also. What can I say, I'm a political reporter by profession. So you can read about The Cramps, The Dirtbombs and Andre Williams, along with Bill Richardson, Pete Domenici and Manny Aragon. Hey, everyone needs a gimmick! But seriously, my blog features my weekly music column (Terrell's Tune-up), the playlists from both of my KSFR radio shows (Terrell's Sound World and The Santa Fe Opry), my monthly eMusic download reviews, and various other rants and raves about the music industry. And in August, I'll be blogging from the Democratic Convention in Denver. Check it out HERE
what I hate is being told to turn up at 5.30 or whatever, so you turn up at 7.00 and nobodys there and not even a mike stand is set up. we just jump on and do half a song and we are good to go but there is only 2 of us so...in new zealand the sound guy would probly be a good mate of mine or somone I already know.
but yeah, I do hate sitting there banging a snare/kick/tom for half an hour
I've listened to the Rip Offs-Get A Record. Played Tonio K-Life in the Food Chain (there's a few good songs on it, but mostly not good, although it's a green promo copy and it looks cool) and Joe Jackson-I'm the Man, primarily for the title track. It's the best song on the album.
