Personal Details

Bio I'm an ancient musician and music geek. Like 92% of the population I have a few shows on an online radio station. One of them, Channel Z (on Head Case Radio) is an hour (only) weekly show which features garage-punk, garage, punk, psych and instro surf. I found this site because I bought the first three GaragePunk Hideout comps and I've been playing the hell out of them on the air. Had to find out where the music was coming from, so here I am. I ran an online magazine called Cosmik Debris for a dozen years, but I shut it down in 2007. It's still there, in ghost form. It reflects my own musical schizophrenia, covering everything from pop to punk to classical. I'm an unrepentant pop junkie, but in this case that means Badfinger, Plimsouls, Redd Kross, etc. I secretly enjoy 60s-70s bubblegum, too. Shhh. I've been addicted to garage music since I stumbled into a used record store in Seattle in the early 80s and found everyone listening to The Fleshtones. It's still one of the genres I listen to the most.

Other Hobbies/Interests I am involved in Citizen Science. There are many projects out there, real ones with importance, that can't possibly be completed by the scientists involved or it would take decades just to gather the data. They open the project up to the public on the Web and train you to do the research. I've mapped future landing sites on the moon, been the first to see galaxies, and taken weather readings from naval ship logs in WWI. Watched the sun for storms, too. It's fun stuff and it's available to anyone. That's really my main other interest. Also love watching movies, reading and playing guitar and bass.
