    • Don't forget New York City. I'd say its garage scene is bigger than any of those others. Hell, Memphis, too, for that matter.

    • I got mugged in Chi-Town.  San Fran was ok-head to Austin for STUBBS, every time-order the MAJOR with as much beer as you can handle.

i don't really think much of him. overrated. nirvana's first album was alright i guess, but i could never understand the adoration for them or him.

i think a more important discussion would be "WAS BOBBY FULLER MURDERED?" or what about BRIAN JONES?

    • Yeah so I was just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on him.
Personally, I believe that he was murdered (after watching 'Kurt and Courtney' which I really do recommend. It's a great movie) But yeah I mean I just don't think that he would have committed suicide. Even though he was fairly depressed at the time. It's just that everything doesn't add up. But hey, That's just my opinion I guess (:

      * By the way, I love Nirvana! <3

    • Welcome Joey Fuckup to the squad! He's replacing Bradx, who has gone MIA as of late, and who hasn't posted an episode since last September and hasn't responded to any of my emails, Hideout, or Facebook messages. So be it!

    • Depends on what sound you want man.  11's or heavier, flatwound will give you that plunky surf tone that you've heard on countless records.  Dick Dale uses flat 13's.  Rounds are brighter and have a thinner tone than flatwound. D'Addario flats are around 13 bucks, wound are about 8.  Save some dough and try 'em all-the string and gauge will find you.

    • I always used GHS 010.
They're cheap and turn rusting without breaking.

    • In no particular order

      The Fluid

      The Gories

      Hex Dispensers

It is the tyranny of distance that stopped me seeing these and many more bands.

Living in Australia we have great home grown bands, I mean I have lost count of the number of times I saw the HardOns for instance.

But so many great American and European bands never made it to our shores. :-(

    • I had a great amp at one time... back when I was briefly learning guitar. An Ampeg Reverberocket. I loved it... but since I never got serious about playing, I decided to sell it. But that thing had GREAT sound.

      And it looked like this:

    • Mmmm :| Everyone seems to agree. But ...
I would definitely call the clash 'punk'. I mean they're one of the first bands I think of when I hear that word. Although I do agree with you on some points. But generally all of their songs can basically be put into the category of punk music. I mean I fought the law and white riot? *insert ear orgasm
