    • Haven't seen any mention The Fields of the Nephilim yet or maybe they have. Basic shit goth rock. I'm sure someone likes them... maybe.

If ya wanna hear something a bit freakier try Diamanda Galás. Litanies of Satan or Plague Mass should help you sleep well.

Thank you Desperate Suckers ! See I'm still alive ! Well am I ? In the same "who switched off the light, it's so dark here now I feel like a mole wearing shades and I can't breathe anymore but I don't care coz I've already reached the depths of the well of misery and I know I'll never get out and I don't give a fuck coz I don't want to ever see the light again anyway"mood, you could chek THAT too. • Well, after going all WHO-ish with a 50 Watt Hiwatt plus matching cabs, I´ve recently found out that Solid State Amps can be way better than their reputation.
Currently I´m using some very rare, but neverthless pretty unexpensive Jennings amps (O-50, B-50 and J-100) from the early 70s. Although there´s not one single tube in them, you can crank them pretty much and they´ll crunch like an AC 30 (not too astounding, since Jennings himself IS the inventor of the AC 30).
When playing a tour with the great Jim Jones Revue, one of their Twin Reverbs passed out and guitarist Rupert Orton was pretty freaked to use one of these - but after two seconds he smiled again.
Plus, they do take EVERY pedal extraordinarily well.
I get my heavier crunch sound with an Orion Effekte Silverdrive (the clearest Overdrive I´ve heard thus far), plus some fuzz with wether my beloved Roadrunner Supersonic Fuzz or a Barber Trifecta or an Earthquaker Devices Hoof Fuzz. Reverb comes from an Earthquaker Devices Ghost Echo - one of the best Reverb pedals there is. It´s true.
Plus I play two Hollow Body Guitars - a Gretsch 5122 (the "Cheapo-Gentleman") with TV Jones PUs and - a Hoyer Cat - a korean take on an old german brand guitar.
It´s not an expensive setup, but that should never be the point, anyway. It just sounds darn freakin´good. To me.
      And my two bands.

    • I have my Roadrunner Supersonic since 2005, when talking to the (now Ex-)Mooney Suzuki Guitarist Graham and he praised it over the moon. But really: It is indeed all the rave. The best sounding vintage fuzz unit there is. Plus the loudest, if wanted. Pricey, but as I dig the look and the sound since five years, toured and recorded with it - it´s worth every Euro. Or dollar. Or Yen. Plus: It´s not just Jon posing with a rather cool looking fuzzbox - he actually uses it. I´ve seen Heavy Trash a couple of times and there it was in all it´s beauty... The Barber Trifecta Fuzz comes pretty close, but is not that brutal as the Roadrunner, its more vintage, but really great. I´d recommend that one, too. If you wanna go all Black Keys, check out the Earthquaker Devices Hoof as well. I have all three pedals but keep coming back to my Roadrunner thing. FREDDI said:

Anyone heard about a France built fuzz by Roadrunner, and called Supersonic?
It is "sponsored"by some garage players as Billy Childish,DM Bob,Mooney Suzuki,Jon Spencer.

This trade makes lots of non-conventional shape guitars and basses too..

Well...Malcolm Mclaren, manager of the Sex Pistols, is somewhat of an early pioneer in rap music. I always thought it was interesting that Sylvia Vanderpool Robinson of Mickey & Sylvia was responsible for Sugar Hill Records and releasing the Sugar Hill Gang record.

      P.S. I dig rap.

    • I can dig some of the newer underground stuff, but a lot of it is way too overproduced. I like the old stuff and some of the later nineties (Roots, Hieroglyphics, ETC.). The radio shit, however, is fucking disco, plain and simple, so hopefully it dies out soon.
