    • The show is actually called "When Giants Walked the Earth: A Musical Memoir." In it, Andy refers to himself as the Christopher Columbus of Punk Rock and tells true stories of being at the beginnings of punk rock in America and the UK. It's about a 2 hour affair, with classic Dictators songs played acoustically interspersed with tales of The Ramones, The Dictators and the early punk rock scene in NYC....it's hilarious, enchanting, scary and sad all at the same time...and a treat for the whole family as the younguns should hear these tales. Here's a link to The Andy Shernoff Appreciation Society on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Andy-Shernoff-Appreciation-Society/111480742209768?ref=mf#!/pages/Andy-Shernoff-Appreciation-Society/111480742209768?v=wall&ref=mf A couple of the dates are listed as facebook events there...I can't seem to find one site that lists all of the shows, but check out the facebook link as he may be coming to your area sometime soon. Below is a picture of Andy at Call The Office in London Ontario Canada....6/11/2010....We have the 'special honour' of being the smallest crowd that Andy has ever performed for....and we are ashamed.

    • What's this 2 disc set you speak of Kopper??? I've got 3 volumes on LP, that the same thing??? kopper said:

It's weird, but the only other comp I can think of (other than WAVY GRAVY) that mixes trailers in with the music is SWING FOR A CRIME. That's the only one that's coming to my mind right now, anyway.

Did anyone mention MADNESS INVASION? That's a great one, too... esp. if you can find the rare 2-disc set.

    • Judging by the serial number and that Lee Joseph had something to do with starting Romulan, I think Real Gone Garbage came out in 1992, not 1962.

    • yeah. Nice one Lenny. I always tend to forget about the West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band. Part 2 is a great wee pop gem of wierdness and idiosyncracy. 'Scuse Me Miss Rose is in my top 20 altime garage tunes. gettin goosebumps even thinkin of it. Has anyone heard The Scotsmen, Beer Bust Blues. If not check it out. A finer garage there has yet to be made.

Yeah I was gonna say Iggy too. Especially on "TV Eye", god damn that song is wild. He does sound like a bobcat on that one. Funhouse in general is crazy (in a good way). Best fucking rock 'n' roll record of all time, wildest one too. Also on "Search and Destroy" towards the end "heeeey heeey heeeey heeey yea yea yea yea yaaayye yayeeee! yayee!.."

    • Also, (besides Iggy) within the protopunk, punk, and rock n roll, but not exactly garage rock, genre I want to include Richard Hell -- he's more of a "Wooow!" and "Yeoow!"screamer though, think "Down at the Rock & Roll Club" (when he says "Scotch and soda! Yeow!" and later on too, he says "Woooow!" and "Yeoow!" like 5 more times in the song), not as loud and crazy as the aforementioned rock n roll screamers, but Richard does a good job at keeping it original and individual -- and the other guy I want to include besides Hell, is David Johansen baby!
"Aaaaaaaowww! "Yeaaah yeaah yeaa!" "Talking 'bout perrsonnalitee!"

    • I make the idea that u guys were playing b52 bombers.. we had bristol blehmein night fighters! I DUNNO, the fact that the war had ended, still there were no facts about what daddy did in Africa or Italy etc, and no one dared challenge the goverment, or even talk about anything related. The kids were not getting answers to why mum had to always take her lil' helper, and why sometimes daddy shouted and screamed in his sleep, 20 years on. The kids had to find their own thing, nothing was provided, like i say, we had less to diversify and choose from. You guys over there had heavy machines man! it rubs off on youth. Faster heavier, i guess our sound was lighter, but because we didn't have that much to tune into, we could make it that wee bit more brit sounding.. And.. u guys picked up on the german fighter leather jacket thing as early as the late 40-s man! an early hells angels image.. we didn't! it all sort of relates no? And to nowadays also no? mmmmm...
