Speaking of garage guitar, i have a hofner colorama to rebuild, does anyone have some hofner parts to sell/trade ? I need a Colorama scratch plate, one pick up version 1 and a Hofner Diamond Top Six String Pick Up ... I don't really know how to stick the vinyl surface on the guitar body, it seems hard to do right for non-professional. I just stumbled across this old guitargeek.com forum thread asking for the best garage punk & primitive rock 'n roll rig. Being interested in guitar gear old and new I thought I would repost here and see if anyone wants to weigh in.

Well, I'm sure we'd all love to own copies of all our favorite Garage bands on vinyl, but those orginal pressing can get pretty pricey! I just picked up a reprint of "Black Monk Time" on 180 gram vinyl, and it's amazing(available on Amazon for those interested). Anybody know of any other recent re-issued Garage vinyl?(links please!)

Who ever wrote those notes... I'm guessing it was Greg Shaw who wrote the liner notes in the Pebbles series, wasn't it? Tim Warren's liner notes in the Back From the Grave series are great, too. Joe's Garage said:

Well, that's good. It's just that it still needs some work. Yes, I know this has been going on forever, and I can't say I blame anyone for losing patience, but I'm sticking with it.

The reason that i went back, was that i was receiving emails from the site (or representatives thereof) saying that the site was improved. I didn't see any changes, but i did give it a chance. dave MikeL said:

I stopped listening to the radio when John Peel died. I also used to listen to Andy Kershaw back in the day, before he went all freakaziod, lost his mind and started stalking his ex-wife [something like that, anyway]. I can't remember them ever playing much garage stuff but i really used to dig their constant curve-balling of Cumbian music, alternative hip-hop, industrial noise, weird shit and dub reggae. Although i'm sure it was John Peel who got me into Man... Or Astro-Man?
