    • Always appreciate R. Fink's efforts on Rock 'n' Roll Suicide to bring us new bands. What sort of new stuff are you guys listening to these days?

Personally, I've really been into Ty Segall's side projects, Wau y Los Arrgh's, and some of the Slovenly Records 7-inches lately. And not really garage, but I've been digging hardcore band No Friends. They just put out a solid LP on No Idea records.

    • Google is your friend in such things! Just google "the insects" band and you have the answer - it is/was already in use. In times of internet I'm always confused how bands can form with names that are already in use. Could think they don't do any research ...

    • I'v always liked The Insects. I dunno if it's been used though. Probably has.

    • "Summertime Blues", greatest cover ever. They did a killer cover of "Parchman Farm" as well. Thanks for the kick ass sounds, Dickie.

I think Kopper needs to round up some GP record labels that have wikipedia page and have them link to GPPN wikipage. It'll help with the missing notoriety within the wiki network. And kopper, do all your editing at work, without being logged in.

He's put a 'citation needed' on the claim that it's "the leading[citation needed] social network, media center and blog portal... etc..." even though that's upheld by the rest of the paragraph (18,500 hits a day, 3000 members, 'Featured Podcast' on iTunes, what other proof in needed?).

    • Johnny, I have no idea who that guy is. But it doesn't surprise me. Wikipedia's editors are notorious for being pains in the ass. In hindsight I guess I should've created a separate login before I did any of that editing... none of which was "major," by the way. I was simply updating it so it was correct! So it appears as though Wikipedia has flagged the GaragePunk.com page for several issues... notability, linking, conflict of interest, and references. See below: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GaragePunk_Podcast_Network I can't touch it. I need someone else to go in and fix it so that they're happy. I thought it was fine before... and it probably was until someone saw that I'd made a couple changes and put two and two together. I know a few of you guys have contributed to its development in the past, so I'm hoping you guys can go in and fix it so that they're happy. But it looks like the few edits I've made (after it was already set up by someone else, mind you), caused Wikipedia to flag it as being "edited by a person who has a conflict of interest with the subject matter." Johnny, just go back in and restore the edits and then argue with him about it on the page's discussion page. What you posted above is all you really need to say. Thanks!

    • America (Canada is, with all respects, included) is the capital-continent of GP for real, right? Seen by the mass of people that live there and would fire it up back in the day basically and also by the historic and cultural background and all. But you know that better than' me, since you are living there an' all. For fan numbers, I don't know, ...but good shit happens all over the place: I mean, check SWIZZZZERLAND makin' my ears proud to listen in, check CAMBODJA's history of rock music (where records where destroyed and the movement was actually killed by the fucked up shithead army ---> "shotdown" fer real!). I sure enjoy me some ITALIAN stuff, like MOTORAMA, or WHITE PAGODA. Hell, there is loads happenin' there. Right GRINGO? Shit I'm sure leaving stuff out, like the PEOLPE UP IN THE NORSE COUNTRIES... sorry guys, you are grrrrreat! Check SPAIN and all the wild festivals going down there, totally, positively jealous of those guys moxie! BRITAIN, Dirty Water, BILLY CHILDISH all kinds of other sweet humbug - NUFF SAID! SOUTH AMERICA HAS A LOT ROLLIN' man, what a jam! Even GERMANY has wrought out some awesome bands. The MONTESAS come to mind. ÁUSTRIA is slowly catching up, the STAGGERS crew is doing a lot, BATMAN AND ROBIN, SPEEDY AND THE FUCK OFFS got good crap rollin' - so as ya hear, stuff is going! But here, some other jerkfucks I'm not cool with personally take GARAGEROCK as gospel and are tooo hardcore about it, not enjoying it at all. I'm not calling names. I just don't enjoy the headache they are spreading, so screw that - I'm biased. I'm all out for diversity and if someone yells "POP-sellout!!" to every new band on the scene, tha's no fun! I'm here for the sounds baby! "!CAUTION: WISEASS RANT AHEAD!" I mean do what ya want, right? It's just, I don't like no expert smartass scene-ster authority tell me how to listen to my music (just the tellin' is enough). But said people sure enjoy humpin' the legs of the BLACKLIPS when they play a show here. And what is the BLACK LIPS? One of the toprockin' GARAGEROCK bans out who have reached mass Pop appeal - but aren't pop. And what do the BLACK LIPS do? Play all kinds of crazy shit, spreading it far, but not spreading it thin! "RANT ROAD END!" I'm writing this in a gritty mood so don't get me wrong, heehee. For the site: Damn, I'm glad this place is thriving! I sure love it!
