      Goshdarn, I love this place!

I hate the look of ancient internet formus (NOT speaking of the old GP forums - I've never been there...YIKES!) and also crap like Myspace, (sorrysorrySORRY!) or Facebook.
I'd love to see the many GP bands that are on Myspace come here and use this. Because the Hideout just rings me up as something different than most a those sites and a crazy good amalgam of all things the internet can serve as.
It took me a while myself to get in on it but it's just a lot of fun. And yes that's a reason for me to stick around.

I love the "social network" frame on here to view pics, video and music directly by the bands or DJ's or dancers or whoever. As well as a tie in to all the other things people got going. Tourdates, trading, new records, podcasts of course... bring it on! The whole thing's working fine for me - and just for the record: All the different groups do too!

Like many on this thread here said: Use the blues or loose the blues ;) Not that I have been to busy here either...BLEH!

    • This shows gonna dish you up some Sex, Drugs and Rock'n'Roll. Kicking off with the Sex session delivering you five red hot rude n lewd R'n'B from way back when. Followed by overdosing you with some drug fuelled Garage Rock. By then you'll be ready for a blast of classic Rock 'n' Roll stompers to get your heart rate up just a bit more even more. I reckon after all that hedonism your gonna need to cool down a bit, so I'm gonna slow down procedings and give you chance to get yer breath back with one of my favorite coooool tunes of the moment. Enjoy the trip! Bull Moose Jackson - Big Twn Inch Record The Swallows - It Ain't The Meat Bull Moose Jackson - Bow Legged Woman The Bangers - Baby Let Me Bang Your Box Andre Williams - Jailbait The Swinging Neckbreakers - Live For Buzz The New Conolly 5 - Stoned The Other Half - Mr Pharmacist The Pretty Things - LSD The Cramps - Drug Train Gene Vincent and the Blue Caps - Blue Jean Bop Carl Perkins - Put Your Cat Clothes On Johnny Burnett - Tear It Up Mel Dorsey and the Heartbeats- Little Lil Bill Johnson - You Better Dig It The Sandpipers - Louie Louie If You DIG IT! • We love this place!
and I know that since we are new, that we havent even begun to really use it for all that we can...

I love finding like-minded folks, great bands from all over the globe and then trying to find them in the other places we lurk (myspace, Freeform radio stations, Podcasts)...you know networking!

especially if, for instance, the small town you live in isnt too keen on your music-
there's a whole other world in the hideout!

      Just sayin'.

I also find cool that they are bringing the Cobras around. Hopefully they can drag them over here too. It seems like a very natural team up.
just so there's no confusion, the Dex Romweber Duo is opening up for the Detroit Cobras. and yes, does seem like a very inspired pairing. be fun to see them in ATL!
Yep, I got that! And yeah there's a good load of noise coming from this duo. Hhaha! Mr. Jim: If you'd live where I live, you would be happy about every band coming around, Heheheh! I'm the more so 'cause I dig 'em both - a lot. If I read you right, you don't, so I can see your "nay nay" on that.

wash yer mouth out! Sara's the best thing musically that's ever happened to him! biz-wise, too. besides, Sam was never ever at the helm of anything except his one way path to self-destruction.
Didn't mean no disrespect to Sara a'tall ...I dig about half of the new record and just overjoyed that Dex is still out there makin' it happen w/ her help... But Sam was good to me, esp. in regards to gettin' to see Dex and I bummed that there's no Cola-town show, tis all. now, the Cobras on the other hand ...a bunch o' screws, that bunch...but that's another tale.....

I know, Europe sux, but can they come over anyway?!?

there's talk about doing just that. not sure when tho.

That sounds fantastic! Thanks for telling. It was great to hear about the band on the show a couple a times, they have some real fancy things going.

Whenever/ifever the Europe thing happens, I'll be glad to write in as the hype monkey. There are a few clubs here in Vienna that would be fitting in my humble impression. Here's some of them.

very cool. I'll get to their manager... so you've been hearing Dex on my show? thumbs up to that! but if I was not clear, that's a duo you're hearing. a lotta clatter for just two peeps, eh?
Sure, Sure! The two where not seperated in my mind. It's awesome what they got going. And the more chatter the better. I also find cool that they are bringing the Cobras around. Hopefully they can drag them over here too. It seems like a very natural team up.

    • I probably posted in this discussion before! Anyway...

      1. First 3 Ramones albums.
      2. Young Loud & Snotty - Dead Boys
      3. Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables - Dead Kennedys
      4. Minor Threat - Minor Threat

I saw the Ramones and Dead Boys many times at CBGBs and around NYC in mid and late 70s, amazing shows! I saw Minor Threat once, that was also excellent. Never saw the DKs.
