    • All very interesting especially that he feels an affinity with the Dadaists( artists such as John Heartfield, George Grosz and many others) I can see that having read about them at college many moons ago.

    • I've got kind of an unusal blog. It deals mainly with music -- and I write an awful lot about the stuff we all love here in the Hideout -- as well as New Mexico politics, which I'm sure most of you care a lot about also. What can I say, I'm a political reporter by profession. So you can read about The Cramps, The Dirtbombs and Andre Williams, along with Bill Richardson, Pete Domenici and Manny Aragon. Hey, everyone needs a gimmick! But seriously, my blog features my weekly music column (Terrell's Tune-up), the playlists from both of my KSFR radio shows (Terrell's Sound World and The Santa Fe Opry), my monthly eMusic download reviews, and various other rants and raves about the music industry. And in August, I'll be blogging from the Democratic Convention in Denver. Check it out HERE

    • Austin country singer/guitar-stud Jim Stringer just turned me on to this great Web stie with dozens of MP3s from Kansas bands from the '60s who were managed by Mid-Continent Entertainment, which constantly advertised on KOMA, that 50,000-wat monstrosity in Oklahoma City. The site has MP3s from more than 20 bands, including Spider & The Crabs, The Bluethings and a couple of bands Stringer was in, The Upside Dawne and Tide. Most of these were cover bands so you're going to see a lot of versions fo Young Rascals and Wilson Picket songs. The site is HERE and my blog post about my KOMA memories is HERE.

    • what I hate is being told to turn up at 5.30 or whatever, so you turn up at 7.00 and nobodys there and not even a mike stand is set up. we just jump on and do half a song and we are good to go but there is only 2 of us so...in new zealand the sound guy would probly be a good mate of mine or somone I already know.
but yeah, I do hate sitting there banging a snare/kick/tom for half an hour

    • I've listened to the Rip Offs-Get A Record. Played Tonio K-Life in the Food Chain (there's a few good songs on it, but mostly not good, although it's a green promo copy and it looks cool) and Joe Jackson-I'm the Man, primarily for the title track. It's the best song on the album.

    • Finally learned how to import videos from my old tapes. (Yeah I'm 5 years late). This is an all time fave of mine. Really puts me back to when I was first discovering punk and going to gigs as a kid in 1980. Have never seen this video on youtube or anywhere else. What do you think of this vid? Am I kidding myself in thinking this is any good?

    • Saw him tear it up over a year ago at the Rhythm Room in Phoenix. One of the best shows I have seen him do in years. The crowd was really into it, ton of fun. My girl and I were wondering if something had happened because he was usually making a show around the first of the year and we feared we missed him.

I think we all wish him a speedy recovery.
