Holy smoke! Excited, much?? This is EXACTLY the aesthetic I'm aiming for. Incredibly inspiring to hear this stuff. LOVE the warm, loose and goddamn PERFECT guitar sound, reminds me of what is probably my favourite song ever, Beat Your Heart Out by the Zeros... as soon as I heard "idiot twist" I was thinking of early, Devil House-period Shonen Knife (and Street Surfin' by the Traditional Fools) The moody chords in mouse have me totally stoked, recalling the Go-Gos in their prime... wicked, wicked WICKED dude!

So which instruments did you play on these tracks? The drums are great - are they real? I can bang the drums a bit, play a few chords, but I'm nowhere near as good as this... I guess what I can bring to the party is new songs and lyrics. I'm making material for two projects, both melodic lo-fi punk but one with a slightly brattier girl-group vibe (see early D...    less

Trouble is, you're WAAAAY better than I am. I can write songs, but I'm still fumbling my way around the fretboard. And I can thump the drums like anyone who's just walked off the street, though I did take a couple of lessons, but that's about it. I'm a 41-year-old writer-dude here in Cambridge with kids etc to take care of so regular practice is not really an option! That's why I just wanted to crash together some songs as quickly as possible and get 'em out as a 7"... because I don't have a lot of time to spend! Maybe I'm being over-optimistic about my abilities and what is possible...

    Anyhow, keep in touch.

    Cheers

Hey there, I guarantee you can play guitar about fifty times better than me - BUT, it's great that you are a really solid bass-player, as that's the thing that pulls it all together (while I flail and fumble for the next chord). Dammit, this might actually work. Will put some practice in and try to become less rubbish. As for live bands in London, I'm way out of that loop. All we have in Cambridge is crust and psychobilly. The Garage at Highbury Corner usually has decent stuff on.
