He got his phone out and said "DO YOU SEE THIS , YOUNG MAN ? This is Carl Wright's phone number ! I'm going to call him , right now. John Battles I STILL LIKE THE "MY GUITAR WANTS TO KILL YOUR MAMA" SHOT, BUT , THIS IS A GOOD BASIC HEADSHOT. I used to make bone jewelry out of clay , because I could'nt find stuff like Bryan Gregory wore. RUDI CLAIMED HIS NECKLACES WERE MADE OUT OF HUMAN FINGER BONES.........

The band is/was called Asphidity. The name signifies something funky but therapeutic. The music has a lysergic quality, intended to free the mind, move the body and lift the spirit. We are a funky psychedelic rock band. The band is named after an old southern folk remedy, the asphidity bag. An asphidity bag was a compilation of various herbs and pungent substances that were thought to ward off disease. The remedy began in the Appalachian Mountains in the 18th and 19th century, became popular with African Americans of the deep-south in the 20th century...In short, Asphidity is a bag of funk that wards off illness. And of course personnel issues have come up. The bass player and the keyboard player have "creative" differences. So basically the band has split into two unit when the drummer and myself play with the bass player, the group is called the Spooks. When the drummer and I play with the keyboard player we are called Asphidity. The ir...    less

  • John Battles Dallas Punk gods , The Nervebreakers , have a new album out on Steady Freddie Records. The Nervebreakers ruled the roost in the Late 70's/Early 80s , and they opened for The Sex Pistols , The Ramones and The Clash. They also backed Roky Erickson. They reformed in 2008 and recorded this album which is just now seeing the light of day. Trust me , it sounds like '77-'78 all over again. All fans of ''Killed By Death" style Punk are advised to buy the album , which is called "Face Up To Reality".
