Following some travels around Europe and social observations through his work as a hair stylist Ben had a wealth of inspiration for some fresh new songs. This fuelled by a despondence for everyday life drove Ben to form his own band. He asked bassist Josh to join who brought his fresh out of the Navy friend Marty on drums with him.
Their sound has the raw edge and angst of classic punk mixed with infectious
contemporary indie pop hooks that will get stuck in your head like a penny flung off the Eiffel Tower. This new take on a classic and widely loved style of music has seem them forge a hungry and loyal following across the UK.
They have had the pleasure of being frequently asked to play by promoters based on their reputation for a rough and ready live show bursting with fun, energy and entertaining crowd interaction at top venues like O2 Islington Academy, Boileroom, West End Centre, The Halfmoon, the Dublin Castle and plenty more.
They have created a lot of buzz on the indie blogs, and had airplay on popular indie radio stations like Amazing Radio, Best Of British Unsigned as well as being chosen by BBC introducing for airtime. They've been praised by respected and established industry types like Emerging Icons, and The Huffington post who named them in the popular “you need to hear this” feature.
The momentum shows no sign of slowing down either with a busy gigging schedule The Cottonettes look poised to fulfil a promise of bringing their traditional punk style back to the attention of music lovers all over the world.
