    • Duke of Earl , I don't know. I would suggest looking up some of your favorite (Still active) bands' websites , and see if any other , related sites turn up that might have more information. It was pretty lowkey when that tour came to Chicago. It was billed , alternately, as Michael Monroe of Hanoi Rocks , Hanoi Rocks , and even Honoi Rocks (!) with Michael's name second billed , as if it were a Hanoi Rocks reunion. It was as close as we're going to get , I hate to tell ya. It was that good.

    • Ergh, I wish I had heard about this tour. Anybody know of any online sites that list just the good rocknroll tours? I find it hard to keep up with what bands are touring, and when I read calendars of dates for specific venues I'm overwhelmed by useless info. Im more interested in seeing the vintage rock acts. I would have loved to see MichaelMonroe do the Hanoi songs.

    • Oh cool! Thanks for the link!! Its a pretty gnarly looking guitar. Got a link to $900??

    • All The Gibson versions I've seen have been "blonde" but this one was all sparklie like a 1970's carnival ride!  I don't know if it was from Gibson's Custom Shop or a knock-off but it sure did look cool.

    • Yeah, that's the guitar! I have kind of a shitty picture of it I got with a phone if anyone wants to see it. It looked pretty rad, but I couldn't see what make/model it was.

    • Kopper - Lots of fun.  They played all the old hits, referenced the '93 Ciceros show, lights, lasers, videos, theramin, Tesla coil, jumping around.  Sound was really good, too.  Well attended.  My drummer Tim and Steve went, too.  I saw Ryan, Doc, Ashley, and some of the Honkeys.

SH - If you mean the thing that looked like a candy apple red with glitter inverted Flying V, I don't know what brand of guitar that was but I've seen one before.  Pretty cool.

    • Hi everyone -

Alice Bag has a new book coming out - about her life growing up in LA, being a part of the punk scene from a Hispanic and woman's point of view - with lots of stories and photos, the book is called "Violence Girl"

Dawn Wirth has a new book out called "The Bags Hollywood Forever" consisting of mostly un-published photos of The Bags taken at the Hollywood Forever Cemetary in 1978. Dawn was part of the original Masque scene as a young teen and snapped lots of photos of the bands and people

Together they are doing a book signing party complete with an Alice Bag Brownies (cooked by Dawn) giveaway!

Here's the address, date, etc!! If you are in the LA area, come out - the event is free.

    • Basic chords are the staples of music. Nothing wrong with that. I've been playing for 20 plus years and admire simplicity most of the time.

I'm a little older, don't drink anymore,  have no style and don't look too cool so it's always hard for me to meet new people =) I don't get out much so I was figuring there must be some underground music scene around here somewhere. I do see bands setting up near the yoga studio on Greenleaf from time to time but never stop in fear the kids might think i'm a narc :)

Also Rock and roll bands sometimes play on Friday nights.  The Bamboo lounge sometimes has a Rock N' roll nights too. Prob. meet some nice people there. I only play basic cords :( . What do you play?

    • Yeah I play in a little shoegazer band. We're on hiatus right now until we find a new bass player. I live near the moose lodge -- where can I hear your band?
