    • Kopper they're REAL straight forward power punk pop nofx-y type. They might even come of as emo punk. Yeah Blink 182 is the general consensus here. ;) They are no Design The Skyline wich is currently repping us!!

    • Corpus has a lot of shit going down. I run the local record store, put in a psych/garage section, order a bunch of goner etc. norton midheaven. We got a band Los Sanchos you can check out on FB. Haven't made a GPH one but we're fixing to record some shit. There is also a band named Spacefuzz that plays from time to time. We do shit sometimes as two or one man bands and also will spin soul nights under the name Mr. Dirty DIck Fugly. Cavegirl is another one. Dead Passanger plays Rock n Roll. Oh and Toxic Fuse and The Cherry Bombers outta VIctoria. This girl Mell O http://garagepunk.ning.com/profile/mellisaordonez does a label, Hell Tunes, and plays with mentioned bands.

    • Oops. I must have gotten confused because they did that split with the Potential Johns. That is SUCH a good record, BTW.

Chinese Telephones are from Milwaukee. I went to one of their weddings, so I should know. They're great, though.

As far as the Wax Museums, I can't say enough good things about them. One of the best punk bands around right now. And The Mind Spiders, Women in Prison, Alex Cuervo (of The Hex Dispensers) put out a solo EP that's awesome, Occult Detective Club, Potential Johns.

Lord High Fixers and The Motards, also, but I think they're both defunct. And as far as defunct bands, you should check out early Dicks and Bobby Soxx.

    • I'm going to tell him how much I love the Nuggets comp too, except I won't be drunk;)

I had heard he was in a garage band, but I never got their name.  Thanks for the heads up, kopper:)

Saw Lenny at the closing of the Continental, and it was a cool experience. I missed out on the Patti Smith gig last nite of CBGB (got in the nite before on Sat. nite with Blondie, Dictators, Waldos), but ran into Lenny on the street after they tore the banner down. I was drunk and kinda blabbered about how cool the Nuggets comp was and took a pic of him and the girl I was hanging out with. You're pretty lucky you get to see him. Thanks Kop hadn't known about his garage band!

    • He also had a '60s garage band called Link Cromwell & the Zoo. Check out the live album from '66 on Norton Records. "Crazy Like a Fox" is a great tune.

    • Originally, I was only going to NYC because the Cocktail Slippers are playing at the Delancey Lounge on Sept. 24.  However, I just found out that Lenny Kaye will also be on the bill, along with Palmyra Delran.  That was a very pleasant surprise.

I'll be honest, I'm not a huge fan of Patti Smith, but Kaye was the man who put together the original "Nuggets" compilation, so it will be cool to see him just for that reason.

    • Bowery Ballroom is a pretty decent-sized venue.  Solid bar downstairs in the basement.  Big stage, large venue.  Can probably hold 1,000+.

Now it's the K-Holes instead of The Babies. It's also in the Bowery Ballroom. How is the venue? It'll be my first show there.
