    • Montreal garage-punk/powerpop band looking for some help setting up a west coast tour in late may/early june. We've got a few dates set up already, but are still looking for some cool venues/bands to hook up with, particularly in San Diego/LA, all the way up to Portland & Seattle. Any bookers out there!?

    • if you're gonna be in LA for a month, you should try driving up to san francisco/oakland (7 hours with traffic). tons of bands all the time, and that's where shannon and the clams, nobunny, hunx & his punkettes, gris gris (among a gazillion other bands) are from.

    • Hey I'm moving to La and basically if you got my site www.myspace.com/themeanmeanmen, all of that stuff is just me fluffing it to look like a real band! So I want to go the extra step with it and am leaving for la next week. I have been playing all the instruments but I would like to be able to just be freed up for vocals. I have a lot of originals and if anyone is interested see my post on the groups first page.

    • ********after reading a few posts I wanted to say that first of all I don't really care about experience. If you think you would have a good time and would be excited about writing or playing songs with me about women, drinking, new dance crazes, and the lack of good sex(!)-contact me**********

I am currently looking for a drummer guitarist(possibly to collaborate and write with) bass and eventually keys.

Check us out here and on myspace.com/themeanmeanmen

Last week we joined ebandagogo and currently are the top 3rd band and have the fourth top single.

I would like to find some indiviuals who would be excited about being apart of the project and could see themselves adding to the content and not just playing chords or a bass line. Obviously the music isn't too technical! lol.

Anyone interseted can contact me on here or if you want call me @210-274-1680

I will be in LA(downtown) next week and am very excited to take the band up a notch.

      cheers

      Pat

    • The Double Down is the happiest place on earth....I had fun there. There was a cool rooftop bar at The Rio when we went in 2001. And the thrill rides are wicked fun..you can go on board the starship enterprise! I think it's circus circus that has the dolphins you can get right up close too.

    • The beauty bar and the griffin are right near each other on Freemont downtown (not too far from the freemont experience, but far enough). I can't recall the name of it but there's a place that has live music that's on the same block. I remember that The Hold Steady were playing there the week after I was there. I think the Double Down has music every day still, for better or worse.

    • I always liked what Dr. Thompson said about Circus Circus. To paraphrase, it's what the hip world would be doing every Saturday night had the Nazis won the war.

    • The Double Down can have good (punk) shows at times but is quite dirty. Good bars would be: The Mix, Ghostbar, anything downtown at the Golden Nugget, Beauty Bar. Don't miss the $6.99 sirloin at Ellis Isand...Have fun. I'll be seeing the Buzzcocks and Damned at the Inkfest show on the 20th.
