(p.s. – We WILL have food on hand, but if you want to bring something special to grill, that would be cool.)
Gotcha.
The reason it would say "Brooklyn at Southpaw" is because when you create an event name it places that in front of the venue when it is posted. Let's say that Don Pedro is having an event and let's name the event "ABC." When th event is posted on here it would read, "ABC at Don Pedro." The city and state are not visible in these posts. I was suggesting that we name all of our events whatever city they are taking place in. That way the city name is visible when looking through the list.
Thank you.
I think "Southpaw in Brooklyn" sounds better, but maybe Brooklyn - Southpaw will make it easier for people reading it. I'm also working on an iCal calendar right now for cool events in the NYC/NJ/CT area, but I'm having some problems. Here it is: http://ical.mac.com/blairb/Concert%20Calendar It's hardly complete, but I do have some questions for anyone who has knowledge of iCal: 1) How can I get it to go to month view automatically? Although I could just give you this URL - to send you straight to month view, that seems like a pain in the ass. 2) Despite the fact that I put the URL in the designated field in iCal itself, that information isn't shown when you click on an event in the published version of the calendar. Is there some way to get it in there or do I have to go through the entire thing and put the info in the Note field instead?
Exactly.
Yeah whatever fucktard...
No, actually you're right. Now all I gotta do is find some people to start a band with, write some songs, practice a little, try and get a gig and then I'll be able to make my own posts with the city name as the title.
Fuck yeah, I can't wait!!
I just thought about this.
From now on when we post our shows and other faggot shit up on here we should put the city name as the title. It'll look kinda dumb saying "Brooklyn at Southpaw" but at least it's a little easier to find things in your own city, especially when there are so many clubs with the same names and so many small bars and random places that hold shows.
This is just me sayin' it, so nobodies gotta listen, but I think I'm a pretty smart guy and this sounds like a pretty good idea.
Somebody come play in north Alabama. Please. Is anyone on here from north Alabama? Or the Shoals or Huntsville area? And also we need a comment board like the one on Facebook. That way we post comments for things that might not warrant a full discussion, like what I'm posting now.
the ugly beats are doing it 6Ts style at the jet lounge downtown houston, texas. TWO SETS! so come early come late don't worry you won't miss out.
low cover. high expectations. and electric tsunami (dj black slacks) will be djing!
mug for me, i'll be packin'...
Wow, you're right. I just did a search on Myspace for bands around St. Augustine, and I didn't find one that even came close to garage or surf. Maybe you should move? Seriously, though, I don't think I could live in an area that was totally devoid of rock'n'roll.
I live in Saint Augustine, Florida where the best "live music" usually involves some sort of folk band performing their cover of Gin & Juice.
I haven't seen rock and roll for 3 years now.
I gotta beg! We in Cola-town South Carolina are in desperate need of garagepunk...if yer in a band and at all interested in playin' in SC give me a shout and we'll work it on out!
Had a bunch of t-shirts left over from this thing. If anyone wants one, shoot me a message here. I'm blowing 'em out (ha) for just $8 plus postage. Otherwise they're just gonna rot in my basement.
Craig Moore from '60s garage punk madmen GONN (Keokuk, Iowa) will be there Saturday night and will be joining both The Nevermores and The Geargrinders on stage for covers of Gonn classics "Doin' Me In" and "Blackout of Gretely"! DON'T MISS IT!! GONN on Myspace: www.myspace.com/gonn66
friday night the hydeouts are playing with our good friends the rats at 5th west in virginia beach, va.
then saturday night we are playing with the infamous candy snatchers at the south end pub in virginia beach..
