Hey,
Does anybody like the Brisbane band The Busymen? They're a garage punk band which has been around since 1997 and still going strong. They've been through many lineup changes but the central figure has always been lead singer and keyboard player Robert "Boston Bob" Smith.
They are playing at the Chardon's Corner Hotel on Friday night with me as one of their support acts along with C&W babe Donnelle Brooks and The Winners Of The Tour De France.
Check them out at:

I'm going to be making an official website for them very soon.
Hey Marty . . . Leighton Koizumi here from the Gravedigger V and the Morlocks . I am very interested in playing Japan , since i'm also Japannese and haven't been back since i was a kid living in Yokohama. I have been talking with some Japanese people, Yumi gave me your contact and told me you have a label called Pacific Records. I also will see the Bats at the Funtastic Festival The Gravedigger V are headlining the 1st night. I toured China with the Morlocks last year and it really sucked. Just looking for some help like a booker or manager , etc. . .
on a different note
Hey this is one of my side projects, Leighton Koizumi's Featherwood Junction . . .
i have two songs i recorded , and produced and is ready to go , ( except that maybe Steve Mckay from the Stooges may play sax on "Time to move").
i would like to put this out on a 7" as soon as possible. Let me know or if you know of a label that might want to put this out.
Note that the track Heetseeker is called "Easy Action"
Hope your doing well . . .
L

Cool, thanks for the links (a visit to Wunderbar sounds a bit daunting!) It will be a few months before I'm back in New Zealand, but I'd certainly appreciate any help.
Hi Joe. I'm from Christchurch. The best venues to look at are probably these:
http://www.facebook.com/Dux.Live.Christchurch
http://www.facebook.com/wunderbar.bar
The style of music varies at these places but bands you like are likely to play here. There's not always garage punk gigs on in Christchurch on any given week but there are good things happening here. If you let me know when you are here I could inform you of anything you may like.
Hello all. I live in the U.S., but I'm a frequent visitor to the Christchurch and I was curious if there was any kind of garage/punk/surf scene in the area. Is anyone here from Chch or the South Island? It would be a nice change of pace to check out some local bands the next time I'm in town. If anyone is aware of any active bands in the area or how to find upcoming shows, please let me know. Thanks!
Hmm, well Ok, maybe if Caveman can remember what show on 2SER he heard it, we can contact the announcer and ask them to help us identify the song?
Ah-ha! See? It's not just me! ;)

I've heard the song on Sydney's 2SER Radio, but don't know who it is. It does sound like an Aussie accent to me but you never know. The slide is really cool, good luck

It's just you
The singer is the giveaway, if you listen closely and have an ear for such things you can detect a Dutch accent
I say this as an Australian of Dutch parents, having also lived in Holland for 11 or 12 years. I reckon i can spot a clogwog accent anywhere.
Can't help with the title or the band unfortunately
I'll bring a handful of CDs for you, too.
Great ! Size large with the shirt, thanks see you Saturday night
This Saturday. I'll have some gear for you. What's your shirt size?
I can't make the Bathurst show unfortunately. No you didn't send me a press kit but I'll come and so hello at your Katoomba Show. Any date for that yet ?
