I also have this once in a while, using chrome as well. No big deal cause chrome remembers the password so it's just one click to sign in.

You mentioned you use your phone. Is there an app for this platform?

Not an app yet. Just mobile browsing. I'm still configuring the mobile browsing version because I'm not thrilled with the out of the box options. I think I'll just make it responsive and not have a different mobile version. Someday when I am more familiar with building smartphone applications it would be cool to work on a Hideout app.

    • It's happened to me before on my phone. I think maybe it's just the server having little hiccups with bursts of activity or something? I'm not sure.

    • I've experienced the site not recognizing me as logged in (or kicking me out of the site) after I've already logged in.  This seems to happen as I navigate through different links (formums, blogs, members, etc.).  No discernable pattern.  I'm using Chrome.

Can you please specify the operating system and web browser you're using, the music file type and perhaps size, and where exactly you see the error you're describing and what you were doing when it occured. Is the error a popup? Did this happen from the main activity "Share" area, or on the Music section?

      vista 32-bit, firefox, mp3, 2-5mb/song

I click "add music" and pick the song I want to upload, then the upload timer (0-100%) starts. When it reaches 100% (upload should be complete) the error occurs.

I attached a screenshot of the error.

Thanks, I'll look into it. Does this happen with other songs?

Yes, with all songs I try to upload.

I get different errors 99% of the time I want to upload music in my playlist. Any ideas how to fix this?

      The most common one:

      {"viewer":{},"viewer_id":7435,"status":false,"message":"An error has occurred","error_code":"ace736","errorName":"Engine_Exception"}

Just a question: will the forumposts have an option to follow on RSS-feed?

RSS functionality has been submitted as a SocialEngine feature request. There are some RSS plugins out there, too.

    • thanks...got it..I think..I used  object code in Source to finally get my player to work

    • OK, so there's our problem. File/URL on "General" and iframe code on "Source" do NOT work. Will submit this as a ticket to SocialEngine.

    • I'm having the same issue with Mevio.

    • OK, the insert embedded media button doesn't work. I tried three times to embed a video in my "Bob Reuter, RIP" thread in Shakin' Street this morning to no avail. It just doesn't show up. I was just trying to embed a YouTube video. When I pated in the URL of the video, it defaulted to "iFrame," which is fine, but after I inserted it, and saved the post, it just doesn't show up. Please fix!

    • OK, let's see. I'm gonna hit return once and start the next line.

Starting next line. That should be tight up against the first one. Now I'm gonna hit return twice before starting the next line.

      That's twice. That's nice!

    • August 1, 2013 10:00 AM CDT
    • Is this better?

    • I'm also not liking the way that this "Post Topic" rich HTML box works. Can we adjust the settings so that when you hit return twice in order to start a new paragraph that it doesn't automatically force the text down an extra line? See this post I just made as an example:

      http://garagepunk.com/forums/topic/4315/-/view/post_id/19629

That third paragraph is even indented for some reason... and I did nothing to do that intentionally, so I don't know what's going on, but I don't like it.

You should be able to type in this Post Topic box and hit return twice, creating a new paragraph, without SE doing some funky-assed thing to your writing for you. HELP! I'm going to hit return twice:

      Thanks! return once:

    • No one has requested my friendship so I haven't gone through this. Hmm.

    • August 1, 2013 8:01 AM CDT
    • OK, I'm really confused by the way SE alerts you of the fact that you have a friend request. When I click on the little green "Updates" button, it shows me all my recent updates. I can click on the update for the friend request, but all that does is un-highlight it so it shows that it's read. Nothing happens. If I click on the person's name, it just takes me to their profile. This is stupid. Why isn't there an option there to accept or deny the friend request? I still don't know where to go to actually accept it! If I go to my profile page and click on the Friends tab, it just shows me my current friends. There's no place there to see pending friend requests (either sent or received) there, either. WTF? Why is this so difficult?

I finally figured out that the only way I could accept their requests (that I can see, anyway), is if I click on the "View all updates" link. How many people do you think will actually do that?

I know that if *I* am having a problem figuring this out, that lots of other people will as well. So we should try and fix this, or make it more intuitive or something.

Also, speaking of the whole friends/members thing. Because everyone will be starting off with no friends, a lot of them will be going to the Members directory and searching for people to send them friend requests. Therefore we HAVE to have that goofy issue with the member search figured out before we officially open. Otherwise we'll have a lot of unhappy campers.
