    • First NDAA 1031, now this BS!  Is the U.S. Constitution a joke?! WAKE UP AND SEE WHAT'S GOING ON IN THIS COUNTRY AND WHY PEOPLE EVERYWHERE ARE JUST BEGINNING TO REVOLT:

"Congress is about to pass Internet censorship, even though the vast majority of Americans are opposed. We need to kill the bill - PIPA in the Senate and SOPA in the House - to protect our rights to free speech, privacy, and prosperity."

"The Senate is scheduled to vote on the internet censorship bill on Tuesday, January 24th, and unless we can find 41 senators to block the vote, it is going to pass. Will you meet with your senators during the January recess and ask them to vote it down?"

I certainly will! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE SIGN THIS AND DO YOUR PART!:

      http://americancensorship.org/

If this passes what will eventually happen is that the Internet will become a mixture of BS Government Propaganda and fucking Wal-Mart ads.  This is real!  This is happening now!

    • Hi folks,

      I'm Wig from The Texreys.

Apart from my geetars, my main pride and joy on this planet is my bike.

She's a 1974 Triumph Bonneville T120 - the last year Meriden made the 650 engine.

I found her with only 11,000 original miles on her !

I call her "Mrs Peel" a la The Avengers...'cause she's English, easy on the eye, and if you fire her up she kicks ass !

      Cheers

      Wig

Oh yeah, in the photo, the bike to the right, you can scroll to it, is Mrs Wig's 1976 Triumph Tiger TR7. To the left of the pic you can see also see another front wheel, that's my mate's 1949 HRD Vincent Comet, a very rare ride !

    • Snow Day is one of my favourite seasonal masobrews out right now. Lagunitas Sucks Holiday Ale is a pretty decent as well. Winter Ales are usually tasty. It's nice to see New Belgium stepping it up. Fat Tire is always a disappointment.

Ranger IPA is good, but the Northwest has some pretty gnar IPA's that leave it in the dust.

    • I work with a guy who is a HUGE New Belgium fan, especially Fat Tire. Today he brought me a couple of Snow Day brand ales, and I really like it. It's very pricey here, going for around 8-9 bucks a sixer. Strong indeed, at 6.2% per bottle, I can only imagine drinking the whole six!

    • I remember there was an "Archie" TV movie back in the late '80's (I think), and it was a "reunion" of sorts of the Archie gang, and it was live action (well, not really any action), and I think there was politics involved in the storyline, the characters were adults, and Betty and Veronica were competing for Archie. Oh, and Reggie was a dirty bastard out to undermine Archie at all costs. I remember trying to watch it (I did enjoy those Archie digests when I was a kid), but it full out sucked.

ALSO....You may not believe this , but , in the early 70's , there was an R- RATED ,mild sex comedy called "Hot Times" . It was an unauthorized take on "Archie" , yes , in sexual situations. They even used their names , tho' I remember Jughead being called "Mughead".

I saw a used VHS copy , several years ago , but the old lady behind the counter , I knew her ,and she was a sweetheart. I felt like a Perv. I went back for it , later, GONE.

They're supposed to be making a new Archie movie (There was one , several years ago , with very mild sexual situations - Like Ronnie in a hot black teddy. PG rated stuff...I think it was only available on video.) The new one should be lame on every level , but , who knows ?

Therewas also a TV pilot in the 70's and a short - lived TV show in the 50's. I've only seen pictures of the latter.

As my Editor , Jake Austen , at Roctober , said , Archie does'nt translate well in three dimensions.

Being on a budget during the 80s, I didn't buy Watchmen comics so I didn't see that movie.  I also skipped out on the Spirit as it looked too much like Frank Miller wanted it to be the same visual style he had for Sin City.  I preferred Will Eisner's comic.  There was a very corny 90's TV movie for the Spirit and watched that.  Kind of fun but still not as funny as Will Eisner's comic.

    • Your English is fine , don't be hard on yourself. We all slip up a bit , unless we're fluent speakers of another language , beside our own....I understood you. I'm sure everyone else can, too. I'm sure you can learn more about what the Dollar to Pound (Or Yen , but , you seem have a good understanding of that...) conversion rate will be in , say , 5 years. I'm sure the experts have made predictions that are credible.  I almost went to England about 25 years ago , when the Dollar was , briefly , very strong. I don't think it's been strong for a long time , certainly not since Britain refused to get on the Euro , and even , before then. Everybody wants our money , and , yet , nobody wants our money.

Thanks for the reply, but I want to know fair (right?) late.  Now, 1 USD is about 78 Yen (It means USD is too cheap!!!), but if the American economy is recovered, 1 USD will be 90 - 100 Yen, and I think it's fair late.  As I said, now, 1USD is about 1.6 GBP, so if the American economy is recovered, how much GBP is worth 1 USD?  Or, how much GBP was worth 1 USD about a years ago?

      Sorry for my bad English!

    • I'm watching "His Kind of Woman" with the stellar cast of Robert Mitchum , Jane Russell , VINCENT PRICE , and Jim Backus. Sin and corruption , South of The Border style....

I watched the legendary "Route 66" episode with Boris Karloff , Peter Lorre and Lon Chaney , Jr. , as themselves. Chaney also performs as The Wolfman , The Mummy , and even Quasimodo , his Father's crowning glory , while Karloff donned the Frankenstein Monster attire , still looking pretty good in it. They were both playing  these roles for the last time. Lorre plays himself , that's good enough . The old school Horror stars are treated with humor , and the respect they'd earned , but were being denied.....

Then , I watched an episode of "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" with Steve McQueen and Peter Lorre , in a card game in which the stakes are a beautiful sports car , or.....your fingers. Did you think McQueen was going to refuse such a wager?  Much like an earlier E.C. comic , where two rival Gangsters play "Chop Poker".....

I also found an "I Spy" episode with a considerably aged Karloff as a man with a Don Quixote complex. He's outstanding. Paul Naschy , reportedly in the same episode , does'nt stand out all , unfortunately.

As series go , well , I went thru one disc of "That 70's Show,Series 5" , recently. The connection ? Jack Hill went from directing Karloff and Chaney , Jr.  , to directing Don Stark (Later "Bob" on "That 70's Show".) in "Switchblade Sisters".      Betty White and Tom Post , as Eric's Grandparents , are all over this season....

Betty White was afforded some big honor this week . She'll be 90 in just days , and can kick all our asses.

    • I can see why girls might dig it but I always had it down as a man's fantasy in the same way that Ghost Whisperer was a woman's fantasy, I mean running a nicely decorated antiques shop that sells bugger all every episode  while being very hot and having an attractive husband who's a nurse that treats you well, come on.

Men want to kill deamons, and get confused about the sexy ones that they're supposed to kill but somehow keep falling for their tricks. You're so right about the humour of the show though, like the "who names a character after himself" thing regarding Robert Singer.

I'm going to rewatch season 6 as I kind of did it in a marathon. There were a few good episodes there but I think 3 might be the best with the whole Dean going to hell thing, along with season 5's finale.

    • Hi Mike,

Wow! This post surprises me!! I've been into this program since the first episode aired here in the States!! Like you said, two guys living on the road, driving a cool car and killing monsters seemed like a fantastic concept. However, nearly no one else I know has ever even heard of the program.

Obviously, the show is into it's 7th season, so someone here in the States is watching it. The best that I can gather is that it's popular with teenage girls, who think Sam and Dean are hotties. I don't know what that says about me, but it goes without saying that I like the show on another level. . .
To me, it's the closest thing to the X-Files (which is sorely missed!). They make the running plot lines work, even though the Angel/Demon thing would seem inevitably cheesy on first glance. And the individual episodes are, indeed, like really good 40-min horror films. But what I might like the most is how they have a great sense of humor about the show and aren't afraid to make fun of themselves! Plus, as opposed to teenage girls digging Sam & Dean, I think they choose some incredibly hot women for the show. The season with Katie Cassidy (David Cassidy of Partridge Family's kid!) is still one of my faves!! She's incredible!! And the psychic girl that appears now and then (that had her eyes burned out) is pretty rockin' as well!!
Furthermore, I've tried to get a few of my Psychotronic/Horror friends into the show. While none of them watch it on a regular basis, when they do catch an episode they have been remarkably impressed with how accurate/true the show is to traditional myths and folklore. They've commented, "I was like, how do they know that?!" As if they are the only geeks into that sort of stuff!!
Point is: The show is well done! And I'm not embarrassed to admit I'm a fan. . .  Well, maybe a little. . .
      Jeff

    • Is anyone else here into this program? When I was asking people in Britain about it noone I knew had heard of it but it's big in Germany, but this being Germany we are constantly about 2 seasons behind America. They've only just started showing season 5 for god's sake.

The movie references are cool in my opinion, and I love the way that many episodes cram a mini horror film into 40 minutes. But having watched season 6 I was a bit dissapointed and having seen a season 7 trailer I'm not sure if it's going to pick up. I really hope it does because the fantasy of living on the road and killing monsters seems pretty unbeatable.

    • "Blood Freak" is one of the worst , but , it's so bad , it's GREAT ! An amateur Mad Scientist drugs a disgruntled Vietnam Veteran (We were still in Vietnam.) with a turkey. Yes , a turkey. Not Turkish Hashish or even turkey pheremones , but Thanksgiving styled turkey. First he gets him stoned on laced pot , then offers him further laced turkey after he gets the munchies. Would'nt you know it ? He becomes a monster , a turkey - headed , marijuana monster . They don't make movies like this , anymore.

The Ormond Bros.' "Monster and The Stripper" (aka "The Exotic Ones".) features Rockabilly and Great Music in General Legend , Sleepy La Beef , as another Marijuana monster . It may , well , be one of the worst , too , but I dare you to walk away from it.

    • This movie's bad , and BAD ASS , BUT , FOR THE RECORD , IT'S NOT THE SAME MOVIE AS ANDY MILLIGAN'S "THE MAN WITH TWO HEADS'' (Which is an adaptation of the "Jekyll and Hyde" legend.) ....Yes , it was one of three working titles -"The Thing With Two Heads " (The generally agreed upon title.) , but , it was also shown as "The Beast With Two Heads " and "The Man With Two Heads"......

This , of course , is Rosie Greer and Ray Milland , great casting.....But "The Incredible Two - Headed Transplant" had even better casting - John Bloom* , Bruce Dern and Pat Priest.

      * John Bloom was a Tax Assessor turned Actor in Horror/Exploitation films in the early 70's. At 7' 4 ", he was the tallest Frankenstein in films ("Dracula Vs. Frankenstein " - required viewing.). He was also the monster with the exposed brain in "Brain of Blood" or "The Creature's Revenge". And , as a matter of fact , I DO have a date for this weekend. Bloom died a few years ago , still quite young.. Probably not from Giantism , tho' it's possible.

yesh... so bad we watched it twice in succession... boy o boy do we love really bad films... ;)

I've often been told Andy Milligan's films ("The Man With Two Heads" , etc.) are at least some of the worst Horror movies ever made. They showed "The Rats Are Coming! The Werewolves Are Here!" (Yes , that was the real , working title.) on TV in Ft. Worth , once. I made it through about 10 minutes. It was wretched.

    • Cool read, and yeah, I've drank this shit, albeit one too many times. Just for a quick get fucked-up potion, more or less, but I had to chew Big Red just to mask the nasty taste. The last time I consumed any, I said that was the LAST time I would do that. Matter of fact, my New Year's resolution was to stop chugging ghetto swill and drink more premium brews. Thanks for this post!

    • Thanks for posting this! I love it, who'd thought I'd be hearing new (to me) Ramones songs at this late date.

In the same vein, but nowhere near as cool, I've attached X's Budweiser commercial.
