    • I'm guessing the "love" was for the Euro or Deutschmark and not for human life.

But yeah, I was a bit taken back by the size of the tunnel they were trying to squeeze everyone through. That tunnel was never gonna cope with half a million people let alone the 1.4 million that turned up. That was a king sized fuck up by the organisers.

    • Don't know how many Germans are around here or if it caught the news much outside Europe but there was a techno festival in a nearby city here on Sunday where a stampeed killed 20 and injured more than 500.

The videos are chilling and in my opinion this is murder or manslaughter as the organisers intended to cram 1.4 million people into a site that could hold 500,000 people and push them through a tunnel 20 meters wide, the same tunnel that people would leave the site by.

Anyone know of any other similar organised events where the organisers were taken to court?

In some of the press release videos the sponsor, McFit chairman blames the young people in the crowd for causing the mass panic. Just to make sure that insult is added to injury.

I gotta go with Lars Von Trier's Dogville. I was bored enough to sit through all three hours of that garbage waiting for something interesting to happen, only to get stuck with an ending that totally idiotic. I like brainless trash cinema, not hammer-subtle "political statements." I get it, dude hates America. The only redeeming feature was the end credits, a mix of Bowie's "Young Americans" with scenes of 60s political protests and shit. Wish I'd watched that and skipped the rest!

    • Fuck, where to starts? BOONDOCK SAINTS is shit. In fact, I hate it enough that I've ended friendships with people solely because they were rabid fans. Anything with LARRY THE CABLE GUY is on my deathlist, too. AVATAR, maybe? I don't know. The list is too long for me to even start on it.

    • I agree with Doc there - nothing quite smells like a new book. Holy crap! That print to page smell sends me to another world! I even get it with used books. You know that musty, crusty smell that fills the room with used records? You get the same after a great day at the used bookstore or flea market.

Plus, I have heard from those that have actually bought a Kindle that the download price for newer stuff is almost as much as the actual copy of the print pressing. Why not go whole hog, ya know? My boyfriend and I have a very low-rent version of a "media room" and there is a great amount of R'nR books there ripe for the picking when you're listening to tunes.

Another value of books over downloads is you can swap 'em for a borrow or trade. Hey, take this book if you let me borrow that book. Wow, that shit was crazy, let's talk about it. The original book club.

    • Salute!

I'm just a bit curious - what do you think: Which bike fits best into "our" kind of music?

For me it has to be somekind of british.
Don't now why and I can't grab the reason, but I imagine a Triton or a Norvin CafeRace as true motor-born expression of garage rock.
It's (mostly) loud and dirty, needs no polishing to shine and has definitly a thing called soul or character.

      Your opinions? ;)

    • I picked up my 2004 GTO a few years back hoping to snag enough money to modify it.

I had a few cars with turbo's in the past. an audi 5000s turbo, and an Eagle Talon Tsi - both cars were total hunks of shit. the 4g63 engine was great. but maintenance requirements were just as expensive as shipping it off and replacing it with a crate engine.

The GTO has served me PROUD. i don't care if it's a ugly body style. as far as turning heads
are concerned. I don't want to. Cops seem to be pulling over anyone with a hotrod in site. and if i can keep mine stealth. i'm going to.

I tinted the windows on my ride because of the sun damage that can reap havok on a leather interior as i have. and i keep the thing clean.

right now it's in Hesperia, California waiting to be moved to a shipping yard to go on a ship.

I'm moving to Hawaii in Oct and i'm going to bring the Goat with me .. I'm a car guy. that's just how it's going down.

    • Totally agree - even as most of the crowd thinks about the mighty 70th Mopars (Challenger, 'Cuda, Charger), there some weird 60th mopars on the road. My favorite one is just a little fish:

Still in my garage, two years older (a 64 instead of 66):

I love it... (still, even as I want to sell that one) Nobody loves it as it's no bigtail car of the fifties, no muscle car of the seventies... just a tiny, little mid-60s A-Body..

    • Mmmh, nice boiks out here. The beemers are nice - but still they do have the smell of a "Gummikuh" (Rubbercow) Chop 'em harder. ;) I do like the Hon-daah and the XSs as well... nice bikes, even the fishtail Guzzi has its style. Well, for me - and now to something complete different: I learned to ride on a Yam SR500 (see my blog), doing somekind of customjob with my KTM LC4 (no more crosscountry rallye rides) and have a Buell XB12R for the need of a ride. Looked around for a Norton for a year, but became aware that in Switzerland you can't aford 'em. So why not merging new tech into old appearance? At the moment I'm trying this with my KaffKrosser. Pics? Sure ;) First the ugly modern thing with lotsa torque - one for the modern caferacer:

    • Thank you so much ! Thank you also for taking a minute to have a look on my photos... Guy Garcia is an awesome shaper from Hossegor, and an amazing guy. Beiing here in his workshop was such a cool moment, I was really impressed by the man, the place, the great work he does. And I still think we can see it in the pictures. Anyway, thank you for the interest, Cheerz, Daddy'O. Petulant Child said:

expensive Gin actually tastes really bad in this one

All right... someone's gotta ask, but how can the price of the gin negatively affect the taste?

Or, to ask the question another way, how in the world would a cheaper gin actually taste better?

    • Made a good one for my boss by her request the other day: sounds crap but pretty tasty and nice shot for crybaby lightweights and bachelorettes, etc...
Alligator Sperm (there must be a better name for this creamy chartreuse concoction... its the color of Frankenstein's skin)
      1 part pineapple juice
      2 parts midori melon
      1 part cream

    • Recently I watched this movie directed by Thomas Jane in 2009.
It's a classic "road thriller" but made interesting by a comic finishing work and trading on a temporal paradox saga.It reminds me between David Lynch's Lost Highway and Sin City style...in trash version obviously.

    • I probably should've mentioned Twitter, too. Lots of band use it to announce shows, recording, new releases, tours, etc.
