Michael Madsen as Mr. Blue in reservoir dogs, or was he Mr White?
The twins in Breaking Bad that worshipped Santa Muerte and killed people with a chrome ax. A CHROME FUCKING AXE for God's sake. Deadly and cool.

    • I remeber going to alot of shows back in the early '90s - just about the time of our conflict with Sad'm and the I-raqis - and being stuck in front of some sweaty long hair with sour milk breath. Ee-yuck!

      Hell yeah its good.

World War Z is amazing. It is extremley well thought out and actually works as a record of the attack - think: THe Awful Truth. I recommend getting it on CD or as the read aloud. There are a few chapters missing from the actual book, but its read by Henry Rollins, Alan Alda, etc. AMAZING

    • I love a good dirty vodka martini!!! On a hot day in the summer though a cold beer just goes down so well!! Kit Kellison said:

I have celiac disease too, but those beers leave me cold. I don't know, maybe since it's been 8 years since I've tasted a real beer, I'll give them a go, they're bound to improve as my memory of real beer fades.

I drink vodka, it's relaxing and almost consequence free as long as I don't get seriously hammered. I've tried a bunch of fancy stuff, but I actually like the taste of Smirnoff. Steve says there was a taste test that confirmed my stamp of approval so I hunted it down: http://www.nytimes.com/2005/01/26/dining/26wine.html

    • The guy who did Fight Club (Fincher?) is directing it and it is fully animated. The characters designs are spot on and there is totoaly deication to making it look like the comic came to life and not we animated some shit to appease people.

I liked the Hellboy movies for what they were. The books are, as you stated, way better and a very different direction for the character, as are the prose novels. As a fan I'm glad Mignola can allow his creation to be utilized so differently, but still be true.

    • True, I got film soreness as well. When Hellboy 1+2 came out I was like: You learned to turn gold into boring: Congrats! It was waaay off the mood of the source. Whatever. Hollywood sickness. The Comics still rule the ballpark though. But tell me more about that GOON movie! Hell, I didn't even know that was being made. I live in a cave these days. SCxMS said:

I have to say, and not afraid to say it, that I can't wait for the movie. Usually I hate when stuff i love gets put out like that (I'm a snob) but this is truly going ot be amazing.

One of my best sports memories is living in Germany in '90 during the World Cup when their national team made it to the finals. I remember walking through the village I lived in and hearing the semifinal game coming from just about every open window. I watched the final along with my landlord in his living room, getting hammered on top-shelf scotch. Curse that damn Diego Maradona!
However, I'm just too much of a sports junkie to be able to stay with an event that only happens every 4 years, and too much of a homer to avidly follow any team but the U.S., and we ain't so hot in WC tournies.....sigh.

WOW~ I've never heard of Chilli Lime Cordial, but I'm gonna look for it next time I'm at the old Argonaut Super Liquor Mart.

I've got one for ya! It's called the "Blood Shot" and it's for the morning after. It's basically a bloody mary without the tomato juice, in shot form. My friend Rod and I invented it at the world famous Lion's Lair. It's not sweet at all, like many mixed shots, but spicy and savory and will knock out a hangover in one punch.

      INGREDIENTS:
      one shot vodka
      dash of salt
several dashes of pepper to taste
      dash of celery salt
      dash of worchestershire sauce
      couple dashes of tabasco
      lil bit of horseradish
      juice of one lime wedge
      juice of one lemon wedge

Combine all ingredients over ice, shake well, strain. Garnish with a bite of dill pickle. YUM!

    • problem is, a lot of people on the net don't believe in paying for SHIT. period. I don't think charging new folks will really work(especially as a steady source of funding), and it might be a bit off-putting. is there any way to limit what they can access though? "with just $1 you can get the full treatments" kind of thing? I am more of a lurker, but I've been here daily since 2005(?). I love it. You,ve provided the soundtrack for my life on many occassions. I think it's going to be the "long timers" who keep things going. maybe give a special bonus to those who give good and regular, like a video of Lucy Lux and Crystal catfighting or Brad X giving up alcohol for two weeks and getting the DTs. so.....I will try to throw in $10 a month. Until I can get some legal problems out of the way, it's all I can afford. but it's a small, SMALL price to pay for all the entertainment y'all have given me. kopper said:

I think I'm going to try holding off on charging a cover charge for new members, at least for the time being. We'll see how it goes the first six months or so, and if we just aren't getting enough donations or ad revenue, then I might try it out, but I don't want charging new members a dollar or two to dissuade folks from signing up... which I'm afraid it might do.
