UntitledOn my new Big Enchilada podcast I dedicate a whole set to Saustex artists. Also play a couple from Pariah Records, a European company I just reently became familiar with.
I'll second Voodoo Rhythm, Norton, Crypt, In the Red, Soundflat etc.
For "underground country" stuff I still love Bloodshot, as well as newer labels Farmageddon (they had a joint party with Saustex during SXSW last month but I missed it) and Hillgrass Bluebilly.
For old roots music there's Arhoolie, Yazoo, Old Hat and Dust to Digital. And I love the box set compilations from Proper Records.

UntitledDamaged Goods is a good label, as I'm listening to Billy Childish right now. More specifically, his garage version of "Are Friends Electric?"

UntitledYes, run by King Coffey. Haven't followed in a while but put out a ton of killer shit in the 90's. Very similar to AmRep catalog. Post punk noise stuff. Cherubs are f'ing gods in my book! Weird timing with a special "heavy lag" feeling no one else has ever been able to capture in my opinion. They will have you hitting your head on both floor and ceiling! put on your helmet and check out the song the "Dovey". I posted, but am new to this site so hopefully was successful.
Cheers!

UntitledI know a couple of People in New Cross who run The ARC, the Angular Recording Corporation. I'd also recommend The Sheffield Phonographic Corporation, who publish such great stuff like Chuck or Screaming Mimi.

UntitledSOUNDFLAT absulutely! They just brought out the new JACKETS & the new TRASHBONES records and both kill! Also, they are rad and nice people - saw one of the headhonchos spin wax at the release party and he's done some fun stunts over the recordtables, haha!
I love that Babyshakes record DOUCHEMASTER brought out, just a note there...!

UntitledJohn, you are TOTALLY right!!! Reach through the computer, and bitch slap me for not mentioning Tombstone earlier!!! Man, this makes me feel like I'm livin' on the edge of a psychedelic nightmare.

Did nobody (Including myself) mention Tombstone ? Besides Dead Moon's back catalogue , and Pierced Arrows' Sophomore outing , Ma and Pa Cole have released bands they personally liked , Indigo Zeros , Undertakers , Flapjacks , and probably some others. Even though they're seen for about 20 seconds in "Hype" while Girl Trouble got 10 seconds - comparable snubberey to the otherwise recommended "Sonic BOOM" book.....Your DIY 101 course begins and ends with the Deadmoon documentary.... UntitledYeah, Dirty Water put out a shed load of stuff last year and are kicking off this year where they left off. They've just put out the new Johnny Throttle album (Alfonso from The Parkinsons) and have got the new Thee Exicters record coming out soon.

UntitledYou know what would make all of these labels even cooler? If they advertised here on the Hideout!
Big ups to those that do: Voodoo Rhythm, Dionysus, Bootleg Booze and, uh, I think that's it right now. :(
