I'm trying to record guitar using GarageBand, for a recording project where the bass player and drummer live in different countries. How do we sync up our parts? Do I have to use a metronome and if so, how is this done? Do I try to sync each downstroke to the beat of the metronome? 'Cos I tried it and it sounded kind of mechanical, not in a good way.

Also - anyone used the built-in guitar amps on GarageBand? Which amp/setting is best for a classic first-Ramones-album guitar sound?

Yeah, there are other threads in here about recording with GarageBand. I'd just do a search or browse through some of the other recording topics.

Use Dropbox to send the files to each other, it's free and if you send each other invites from it you can get some more free storage.

I don't have a clue about GarageBand, never used it.
