Yes, my ad here at the Hideout will start running soon -- but I wanted opinions on the other best places online to advertise garage-psych releases?

It is so hard to reach the actual people who still actually BUY new garage-psych releases, lol -- so I'm llooking for any online locations that are worthwhile.

      Thanks for your thoughts!

Hi Mole - for a 16th of a page (the small one!), it's £88 (+VAT) for a label to plug it wares.  But if you're an independent record store, real shop and/or online, they do a cheaper deal for £35.  Alas, we only qualified as a label but I do know that after advertising via RC the lovely FruitsdeMer chaps sell out of their 500 press runs very quickly....

Interestingly, Shindig never responded to an ad rate request.

Fuzz on in 2012 my freinds!

Hey Col, if you don't mind me asking, what do they charge for an ad? State Records were looking to place one but I never got any response from the main ad dude...??!

we're taking out an ad in Record Collector magazine for our next release, just to see what effect it has on orders

they apparently have a 35,000 subscription list

so will hopefully get enough orders to cover the cost :D

Many thanks for all the suggestions. I'm surprised, though, that there aren't more sites geared at garage-psych fans that take advertising. With all respect to the mighty prrinted zine (and my career as a print journalist) I have to say that advertising in print (especially when there are months between issues) isn't nearly as effective anymore compared to online...

I think you can purchase the mag in electrinic form too

Plus there's the side project 'Happening!' which appears to be an abridged bloggy version...

      Shindig Magazine for sure!

A review in there led to a huge surge in orders for us.

Will definitely pay out for an ad with them next issue.
