      Hey everyone,

I just purchased a Squier Jaguar short scale bass yesterday and I'm looking for suggestions on new strings.  I'll be playing with fuzz/distortion in a style similar to "bass follows guitar" bands like Ty Segall, Bass Drum of Death, Black Lips, and early Gossip.  I want something with a real booming low that's not afraid to get trebly either.  So far I'm looking at Labella Deep Talkin' Flats, D'Addario Chromes, and GHS Pressurewounds.  Whaddya think?

I just put D'addario Flatwounds Chromes SS on my Squier jaguar SS and it's sound very good. They are low but still got treble.

A very good bass, easy to play, made to rock, good choice !

D'Addario makes some awesome short scale strings. For my recording basses I use their black nylon flatwound strings. For live I use the Xl170S. these are round wound. I prefer flats, but live I use round wound so the bass cuts through more

I had the same guitar and I used Labella tape wound. they have the bounce of round wound but a thuddy attack, less sustain, and a naturally dirty tone.
