Kinky Friedman about a week ago.
And a couple of weeks before that I saw Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears. I shot this video:
Not much going on , really. I can't even think of any shows I've just got to go to. I'd go see Motorhead , but ,they're opening for Megadeth , and the venue has terrible acoustics (You may say that would'nt matter with Motorhead , trust me , it does.).
Best shows of 2011 - Jerry Lee Lewis and Question Mark and The Mysterians , BOTH playing at the top of their game, and on the same night !
A VERY close second - Michael Monroe - "ROCK LIKE FUCK !!!".
Tied for second place - Black Oak Arkansas.
Also very good shows included : The Fleshtones (Only 30 people showed. FOR SHAME.) , The Cynics ( About 40 people made it. FOR SHAME. Chicago has this Garage - o- centric self - image , but these two still - great bands , AND ? and The Mysterians are'nt even drawing 50 people.) , Kid Congo and The Pink Monkey Birds (Opening for Jim Jones Review , whom I'd love , if they were'nt always playing in the red. I know painfully loud , undiscernible guitar and bass parts are so "Garage" , but even Thee Hypnotics were'nt this gratuitous . ), Motorhead with Reverend Horton Heat (Even Motorhead knows the art of sound control. ) , The Styrenes (This year's model featured John Morton of The Electric Eels , as well as Paul Marotta of the Eels and Mirrors , and Jamie Klimek of The Mirrors.), Pierced Arrows , etc.
Total Control and Komplications Tomorrow in Paris !! yeah
but i miss Iceage tonight due to a rehearsal !
oh sweet jesus.. that would easily be the most fun i've had in my life, hearing a star like that play my song... COUNTRY STYLE!

It would be very interesting to hear his take on your song "How 'Bout I Slap Your Shit"!
My boyfriend and I recently saw Vanilla Fudge at Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe, PA. They were amazing, I'd highly recommend seeing them!
Last night my band (The Scarred) played with Flexx Bronco, Los Creepers, Barb Wire Dolls, Evacuate, and Fiction reform. Some more rock, some more punk, but still it was a fun show. It got filmed and the footage is supposed to be online soon. I'll share. :D
Saw Mick Jones and Paul Simonon playing The Clash songs, joined by Primal Scream, pretty memorable night.
I've heard that about him, very cool...It would be very interesting to hear his take on your song "How 'Bout I Slap Your Shit"!

The London Souls with Tab the band
The Mighty Hot Snakes with Two Tears (both f'ing awesome)
I caught Tandoori Knights (King Khan & Bloodshot Bill) a couple of weeks ago in St Louis.
Hi , Mina. Last weekend , I witnessed the 1-2 Double K-O Punch of Jerry Lee Lewis and Question Mark and The Mysterians , BOTH at the top of their game , in one night.
I saw Joe "King" Carrasco a few times when I was on vacation in Puerto Vallarta , Mexico. If you ever go there , definitely stop by Nacho Daddy and see Joe. He is'nt doing backflips , anymore , but , he still does a great show. He had Marianne Faithfull (And even Manfred Mann's)'s Bass player sitting in on one show.....IF I get my ass off this chair , and decide it's not too cold out , I still , tentatively , plan to see Rocket From The Tombs , tonight. That's about it.
Saw Los Straitjackets and Knyghts of Fuzz in June and recently saw The Feelies. Looking at the Fleshtones or Dirtbombs next!
Gonna see Hank III on friday!! So pumped, gonna try to meet him and do the whole "listen to my shitty band!" thing
oh god i could only wish..

Hopefully it's good, some of the vids of his recent gigs were a little disappointing. But I'm a huge fan of early Adam and hope comes back really strong.

Dec. 3 Jerry Lee Lewis and ? and The Mysterians are playing in Chicago. NOT on the same bill , of course. That would be too good to be true , and NOT a logistical nightmare....Jerry Lee's show is supposed to start at 6 :30. Hopefully , there won't be 3 or 4 opening acts. THEN , i'LL HAVE TO HOOF IT CLEAR ACROSS TOWN TO SEE Question mark (WHO , HOPEFULLY , WILL HAVE 3 or 4 opening acts.), THAT SHOW IS SUPPOSED TO START AT 8:00 or 8:30.
Otherwise , Rocket From The Tombs is also playing next month. Gotta look into that.
