He's coming to Pittsburgh on Oct. 27, and I'm going to see him, so that's why I'm asking.  I'm not a huge fan of Mott the Hoople, but I do like their glam era albums, i.e. "Dudes," "Mott," and "The Hoople," and I do have his first solo album.  I really like his  original version of "Once Bitten, Twice Shy."

I'm also going to Cleveland on Oct. 7 to see Michael Monroe of Hanoi Rocks/Demolition 23.  A local punk band that I'm friends with are opening for him.

Hopefully, both artists will play a smattering of songs from their previous bands.

I'm sure Cleveland does have a lot to offer.  The real problem is getting people off their asses to take advantage of those things.  I feel the same way about Pittsburgh.  BTW, are you going to the Michael Monroe gig?

I know the comic that made that video. We all thought it was super funny. Truth is though, there is so much to do here and so much going on.. in the music and art scenes here... there are not enough days in the week. Not to mention the cost of living and how accessible everything is. It's awesome here. All the touring bands who play here love it too. I can't stand when people bag on Cleveland. It's so completely underrated. I hope it stays that way .. I also love how real and unpretentious our music scene is.

You should have told her you want to name your kids "Mott" or "Hoople," and after she shot those two suggestions down for being too weird, then you could have suggested "Ian" or "Hunter."  Anyway, that's cool that you wanted to do that.  I know a punk rock mother who named her son "Stiv" and her daughter "Ramona."

Both Ian Hunter and Michael Monroe play a fair selection of tunes from previous bands if the recent boots are anything to go by. Monroe's band sound awesome.

Check his tour schedule.  He may be coming to your town, or at least to one close enough to drive to.

LOL!!!  I've actually knew a girl from Detroit who thought Pittsburgh was a huge step up from her home town.  And I love that Scooby Do reference.

Football rivalries aside, Pittsburgh and Cleveland are stuck in the same boat...two rust belt cities who've both lost a lot of manufacturing jobs over the years, and we're both still trying (desperately) to reinvent ourselves.  Pretty sad.

LOL!  Hey, I've been to Cleveland, and I don't have any serious problems with it.  Keep in mind that I'm from Pittsburgh, but then again I'm not the sort of "yinzer" who lives for nothing but football.  Keep in mind that the Dead Boys are from Cleveland.
