  ...on Friday, August 26th. We're rolling between Omaha and Chicago that day and need a place to sow our oats. Any recommendations?

  Try Iowa City. Might be a little short notice as far as booking goes, but I think on the right night you'd probably do well at several of the venues there. Besides, it's more or less right on the way between Omaha and Chicago. My favorite place to play is The Mill (http://icmill.com/), also try the Yacht Club (http://www.iowacityyachtclub.org), Gabe's (http://www.iowacitygabes.com/) and the Blue Moose Taphouse (http://bluemooseic.com/).
