So am I missing something, why is this book only availble for silly money - is there a reason it's no longer in print?

I read it about 15 years ago and thought it was great! Find it cheap and enjoy...

That makes me feel better in that I have a copy of the Short History of Rock N' Roll Psychosis book instead of the Wild World book. But, at least you were able to score a cheap copy that is worth some dough on Amazon.

I lucked out and found it at a second hand shop for chump change. It is in no worse shape than most of the ones advertised on Amazon. It is wholly unremarkable and not nearly as interesting as A Short History of Rock 'N' Roll Psychosis. Several of the guys from RI have been talking about some author currently putting together a book of tour stories from people who played with them (although I don't know first hand about this project and, if it doesn't really exist I hold rights over it).

Thee Ms. Stixx '76 (a member of this community) has and owns it.
      I saw her copy.
      Ask her.

I don't really know the answers to your questions, but I have a friend that has an original copy of it (the edition that is worth some dough). There are several other books out there with very similar content, photos, etc. under different titles that sell for much less money.

So, if you are a serious collector, cough up the dough for a sweet book you'll enjoy. Otherwise, pay a fraction of the price for a new copy of a book with much the same info/photos in it and you'll still have a good time.

      That's my two cents...
