Hallo everybody,

I play in a band called 'I said god damn,GOD DAMN!'(pulp fiction scene,after link wray's rumble).

We used to play black flag,ramones,some clash,black flag and of course stooges.

We decided to stop playing this stuff and become a surf band.The problem is we can't make a good playlist.We have a lot of ventures,couple of man or astro-man,marketts,and some songs from the garagepunk surfcast, i don't know the names.(garagepunk surfcast 07 19.41 min is onte of them,check it out it's a kick ass!)

We also decided to play some cramps,and remakes,like louie louie,eddie cochran ,green onions,stuff like that,but with our own style.

Anyway i just wanted some suggestions for surf tracks to add to tha playlist.Note that we are a trio,now,no exclusive vocals(just me and the bassist),and we can have a piano player as a guest,and propably a saxophonist.

So  come on,tell me some songs.

Ramonetures is great.....There is also a surf misfits tribute band called The Crimson Ghosts or 13 Crimson Ghosts that are worth checking out.

Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet, Satan's Pilgrims, Ghastly Ones, Link Wray, The Shadows, Bambi Molesters, Bomboras, Impala, Dead Rocks, Eddie and the Showmen, Fathoms, Jonny and the Shamen, Galaxy Trio, Gein and the Graverobbers, Planet Seven, Space Cossacks....This list could go on, but these are all good starts...

ever heard the Ramonetures? it's like the ventures meet the ramones. i guess the same thing could be done with black flag, but i'm not a big fan of novelty acts. you wanna make a good playlist? write your own songs. there's a novel concept!

I'll be honest with you, I'm not a musician so have no idea how you could do that, but it is an original idea. And after hearing the idea I relistened to some of their stuff and could imagine it. Of course the vocals of Black Flag are too coarse so they would need to be softened a bit. The bass needs to be heavier and take a leading roll, while the guitar should be undistorted with a higher pitch.

yeah i think is possible and could be the most original thing to do. you like black flag. you like surf music. great! put the things togheter and do something new! there are 10000 surf bands that just sound the same around. do something creative! anyway, to learn how to play surf guitar i suggest you to check teh picking of dick dale
