This Mississippi Dou is one of my favorite bands right now. They make a lot of noise for a 2 piece, and write killer tunes. When I listen to them they remind me of a cross between Devo and Nirvana. BDOF doesn't have full length yet but the have put singles out on 3 different labels, Fat Possum, Baby Don't and Cat's Purring. Just Goggle them and check out their Myspace, you can hear 6 or 7 songs and judge for yourself. The Daily Choice also offers a free listen to their cover of The Chiffons "He's so Fine". I haven't seen anything on them here at the GPH, so I thought I'd mention it. 

Wow, so now yesterday we opened for them, and they were so fucking great! Can't believe they made such a huge and interesting sound with only two people. And nice guys they are, too! I hope they come back to Southern Germany again, it was a blast!

I think it was on a Monday and before anybody knew who they were.

 

You guys should save your pennies and bring them to Windor next time they come 'round.

Mother of god... that would have been an awesome show to play! I envy your incredible luck, and not so much your misfortune :(

I saw them open for Best Coast along side Bleached and I was blown away. I was getting awesome flashbacks of Jay Reatard listening to these two. Would love to see them live again!

 

GB City is one of my favorites of the past year.  Great LP.  Get it if you don't have it.

Cool, we're going to support them here in Tübingen/Germany in two weeks. I've never heard of them before, but I'm really looking forward to it! I checked their myspace page and really liked what I heard.

Saw BDOD in minneapolis when they played with Lover! But really my money is on Unwed Teenage Mothers! You should tour with the Mothers and come back to the midwest!

I'm pissed I miss it, I will be at the next one though. It's cool your gonna play the Yucca again, I don't think the extension was open last November, it's now twice the size. I'll bring a good group of people out for the show. john barrett said:

Are you coming to Arizona? If you are thinking about it, consider The Yucca Tap Room, I play there and would give you a contact if you would like. It's a great place run by a younger owner and they have a pizza oven! No cover, you get a % of sales. Ryan Wong who is on Goner records has a few bands that play there, you guys would make a good bill.
