always i'm on the lookout for a R69, too but they are stoopidily expensive here. Might actually save by buying it from the US.
A buddy of mine who collects old BMW's has three R69's - two of the are US models that were pulled off the assembly line and painted Grenada Red and one in a sort of British racing green instead of the standard BMW black or dover white. Very nice bikes and extremely collectable. The same guy has a /2 Rennsport and just picked up a custom R90S that was built by Udo Geitl for BMW's race team in the 70's. It has shaved short stroke cylinders, titanium con rods/valves, and all sort of one off goodies.
Hey, cool... man, it's got its pros. I really need to get me a electric started bike. The R90 sounds like a good choice. Here's the Vespa GL '64 & one of the BMW in stripped shape... do not look much to the world right now.
The other one looks like this with the sidecar rig.
Also have a Honda from '81 that i do not have pics of. No beauty but practical, hahaha...

My main ride is an 88 K100RS (I know, K Bikes suck...). I am currently restoring a 75 R90S though (silver smoke trim). Put up a picture of your R60!
