i am having intermittent tone troubles with my Bandmaster, and i will eventually get it looked at. but for now i would like to explore some other sounds anyway.

Side note- I purposely avoid studying gear the same way i avoid "mastering" scales/ the fret board. i don't know what my theory is really, but it seems to take some of the rock and roll out of it, to me.

so... i am a craigslister, and out looking for a used midsize / back up amp. lightweight would be awesome. and maybe i should get something known for dependability, since the bandmaster is letting me down lately.

any suggestions?

If you can find one (it shouldn't be too hard) get a Fender '63 reissue Brown Vibroverb.  It's a very nice 2x10 40 watt combo with a kick ass tube bias tremolo plus reverb.  You can usually find them at a reasonable price.

I find you can never go wrong with a solid, good old Peavey Bandit.
