Kingsmen did a version of Born To Be Wild? Ross Jesus Navaro Richards said:
That sir is a motherfuckin great selection! I also love their version of Born To Be Wild, has balls and intensity, rather than a cool tune. I must go with In like a shot from my gun, or some of the earlier pre galm stuff.. gospel according to rasputin etc.. And i wish Don Powell had more studio time, he was a great writer! It changes like most people every day or month haha, but these songs have stuck with me for 30 years or more,...

My favorite song has always been the Kingsmen's verson of Louie Louie. Sure the Sonics version is fantastic, but that hit version always grabbed me just for being demented and still being a top 5 song.

I think Wipeout (Jim Stark?) said it best.

"thee best fuckin' song EVER! ...yeah, I said it..."

This is difficult. I have a better grasp of "the best" or "the coolest" than my own personal favorite. Some songs that I think are pretty near perfect are--
      Lust For Life, Iggy Pop
      Heartspark Dollarsign, Everclear
      You Be Me, Replacements
      Worker's Song, Dropkick Murphys

Money, That's What I Want. I have no question in my mind about that. Probably the Sonics' version.

My current favorite is "Running with the Wasters" by the Takeover UK.

However, like Kopper just said, this can change from day to day, week to week, month to month, year to year, decade to decade. I'm just picking that one because they are one of my favorite local bands.

i tottally understand, and perscribe to that view. but you made realized what i was really talking about. there is a moment in life, specially when we are very young, and you haven't listened or seen so many stuff, and you can trully think somethings as amazing and the best ever. i still remember what i used to think was the best guitar player, or the best riff, the best five seconds in a song, etc because there is sort of a mythological feeling around those people and those sounds that makes you feel that those minutes were just untouchable.

I can't pick my favorite band, album, song, or even genre. I've never been able to do that. It's just too difficult and I don't view music in that way. Every day can be different, every mood can produce a different result. One song can be perfect for one situation or instance but terrible for another. It's like asking what your favorite food or movie is. If you can seriously narrow it down to just one, then you're not living life to the fullest. That's my two cents, anyway.

Yeah, true, of all time won't work for me, it changes too often. This weekend it definitely was "Mella Mella" by The Woggles.

I, too, find it impossible to pick one favorite, but most of the music I listen to would probably not exist if not for the Kinks' You Really Got Me, so I'll say that.

      Slade is awesome.

And I honestly can't pick just one all-time favorite, that's such a hard thing to do for me! :D
