New Black Angels album out soon. Check'em out!
That Brazilian band is cool. Of course Venom are amazing, but I never really thought of them as stoner rock, though I'm sure a lot of people get stoned and listen to them, so whatever. Atomic Bitchwax, Monster Magnet, St. Vitus are all great never heard the rest—should look into them.
I recently acquired a long time want, Melvins - Ozma. Been rocking the heck out of that one recently.
And the immortal Venom (I love you, Black Flag)
Purely for humorisk-like value, from San Antone, 1980s (does it show?)
i WAS BURNING A FRIEND SOME CDs , COS HE'S BURNED ME SOME RARE BUDGIE STUFF....SO I BURNED HIM SOME CDS OF HARD STUFF , ARMAGEDDON , CAPTAIN BEYOND (LIVE @ UTA TEXAS HALL , WHERE I LATER SAW UFO , A YOUNG JUDAS PRIEST , TRIUMPH (YIKES) , CHUCK MANGIONE (!!!) , HARLAN ELLISON (A REAL TOOL.) , AND BEST OF ALL , ST. VINCENT PRICE .), THAT SORTA THING. PROTO - STONER , I'D SAY , ANYWAY.
I enjoy me some Blackwater Park o Clark-Hutchinson.
This is from an ex-member of Kings of Frog Island
That must have been the first time they played out. I appreciate what they're doing...putting the ol' 70s fantasy/myth/space back into metal (where it should always be). Lots of metal bands are doing that recently. So, their first album came out in 2006, and Apocryphon just came out in 2012. Here's the Veil of Isis (Is she taking crack rock/black rock and then coming back to avenge herself afterwards or using magical powers on pancho man before?.. Beavis and Butthead need to review this video)... The Sword - The Veil of Isis

Thanks for the links, always looking for good metal.
The Sword instantly got a great rep. in Austin, God, it must be like 9 or 10 years ago. Nice.

The Sword here: The Sword - Freya
High on Fire - Thraft of Canaan: High On Fire - Thraft of Canaan
Okay, this is full on doom metal, but this particular tune by Goatwhore, gets the stoner drum breakdowns: Goatwhore - Alchemy of the Black Sun Cult
I guess I'm showing all my cards. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE stoner, metal and yesss doom (how can you not like doom and say you like metal?).... oh yeah, Louisiana (Goatwhore), Texas (The Sword) and California (High On Fire)..

Would HIGHLY recommend Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats, a great stoner band from the UK. Very inspired by Black Sabbath but are able to hold their own without ripping them off. These are off their debut LP which is a concept album about a sadistic priest who has an affection for hunting and torturing witches, pretty heavy stuff.
Thanks, Andy, this is a super track.

Yeah. Dead Meadow are great. Brilliant live. never always came across in their albums, but raw as fk. Have you all heard or heard of Black Mountain???
Melvins/Krampusnacht? Lucky duck! Thanks for pointing out Electric Wizard's Black Masses, haven't heard that one, but Dopethrone is a big favorite. Do you like Acid King? Looking for their best LP.

So digging Electric Wizard right now, Particularly the Dopethrone and Black Masses LPs. But hell, they are pretty much killer throughout. Black Sabbath always, and I once saw the Melvins do a live instrumental set in an arthouse cinema over a film about Krampusnacht. My ears were ringing for days, so epic.

Yes big fan here too. Although I'm so hip, I was into it when we still called it 'doom metal'
As much as I love my stoner, I never really got into Dead Meadow. Something about the guys voice I think, pretty bland. Maybe should check them out live to see if it's an improvement.
I don't know if they are "stoner rock." I've been told they sound better when stoned though. Explosions in the Sky are amazing.

The time I saw Dead Meadow, Boris had played the previous night so I didn't enjoy them as much as I could have as it was hard to compare to Boris.
I think White Hills are pretty famous, but their stuff still blows me away. Drone-y, Krautrock-y...
Any fans here of the nomadic duo, Jucifer, and their awesome wall of amps live show?
