If you do, I need to know. My blues trash / punk blues trance or whatever you want to call it band The Aces have our debut record coming out on El Toro Records in Oct (Europe) and Nov (USA) As DIY artists (decide it yourself) we have zero budget for a publicist so I'm looking to you to help. If you write blogs or record reviews for good publications or know someone who does please shoot me an email @ derekirving1@gmail.com - I will contact you/them to see if there is a fit. www.acesfan.com www.drop.io/theaces <-- get your pre-listen to the record before it's out Any help would be greatly appreciated ! You sound great! "Decide it yourself" for realz, hahaha now that's something I can relate to. Have you seen the RECORD REVIEWS GROUP (CLICK CLICK) on here? I guess some a those guys are open to new sounds - not that I know for sure or can speak for them. There's also a ZINE AND RADIOSHOWS (CLICK CLICK) group so maybe that's something as well. Sorry if I'm leading you to wells you already dried out, but I hope you can find something helpful there. Lastly I could draw you a flyer, or something like that if my crackety-crickle hand is suffice for your cause. I'd do so in exchange for some of your records which I would spread among the Recordheads around me. Just PM me if that sounds sweet to you and we'll talk details OK?

Derek.. any press is good press (Blogs, micro-zines, etc). Their are tons of blogs and they are mostly out there "to validate" the opinions people already have about a certain style of music. I would send out what you have above to every blog/ website your band and you like. Don't worry about the fit because 90% of people that write about "new bands" is because they like them. 15% might slag something to keep their reviews on the site balanced. The other 5% are just crazy. Tony Cox, an artist from England, sent out a ton of e-mails himself and his album Unreleased showed up everywhere for a good couple of months.
Also, i would suggest sending reviewers Digital Assets (mp3's, jpeg's, etc.) and not physical copies of albums. People demanding physical product are mostly looking for the shiny album, cd, 7 inch etc.

Hope my "minor league" advice helps.
