So - I'm sorta new to this part of the country.

I went to college in NYC so I know a few good bars / venues in the city (Motor City, Otto's, Manitoba's, to name a few) but I was wondering what's the scoop on Brooklyn...? I live in Clinton Hill and found a bar near Pratt called the Alibi that's a reliable dive, and I caught a good show at Southpaw few weeks back. But that's about all I know for this borough of Kings.

So, where do you Brooklynites haunt? Where's a good place to catch a show / ie to play? Drink? Good mechanic to work on classic cars? Food? Tattoo's?

well - as far as places to play go - we really love to play Otto's Shrunken Head on 14th St. Go to their site and click on bookings. There's pretty cool about letting you play.. however - it's more of a "playing a party" atmosphere than a venue.. http://www.ottosshrunkenhead.com/ Again - I like Motorcity (http://nymag.com/listings/bar/motor-city-bar/) just to hang out... but - I don;t know anything about Brooklyn.. I checked out Magnetic Fields (http://www.magneticbrooklyn.com/) last week - was packed for a garage show - but cool. Very 60's-ish decor.
