It's at the drummer from the Teen Sensations' house. The lineup (we go on last):

2:00-2:40 the happy birthday death(members of the tunnels)
      3:10-3:50 first communion afterparty
      4:20-5:00 hopewell
      5:30-6:00 teen sensations
      6:30-7:10 mondo topless
Music between sets by DJ Scorpio, member of The Tunnels.

Don't know the address (yet), but I'm sure it'll be known soon enough.

We're really excited to be coming to Austin (our first time). Now, all we need to do is secure a clean floor to sleep on and we'll be all set...

Really love your stuff. I'll be sure to check you out. Any word on what house party you'll be playing Friday?

      Hey!

We (Mondo Topless) are playing SXSW for the first time. We're doing a Get Hip showcase on Saturday at Soho Lounge. It'll be with The Stems(!!!), The Cynics, The Ugly Beats, Paul Collins Beat, The Mullens and Breakup Society.

We're also doing a show Friday night at the Austin Beast House (above Emo's) and a house party earlier on Friday. We might also be doing Cheapo Discs on Sunday, but I'm not sure about that one.

      Sam :)

Great reply. If I did anything it would be during the 2-6 am range. Talked to Lars of The Intelligence for an afterparty and it turns out they're dropping out of SXSW. :\

I do feel Factory People were treated unfairly. It's wasn't the first time they had a party in their store, but this one fell during SXSW. The only one it seems the police had problems with.

Personally, I don't know what to make out of SXSW anymore. The entire thing puts a bitter taste in my mouth year by year. A festival that is suppose to celebrate the uniqueness of Austin but it makes it nearly impossible for locals to see a show. A town comprised of college students and badges are going for 500+?! Sure they offer wristbands, but they go so quick (not to mention I have a houston number and they won't accept that) and still run a bit pricey for a struggling college student. I'm not out trying to see huge headliners, but last year I couldn't even get into see smaller acts like Anavan or The Mae Shi.

I wouldn't mind so much, but these acts will usually only come by during SXSW. Once they make their round, they don't come back for a while. Ah well, I'll make due, like every year.

BTW, do you run the showlistaustin site? Gotta thank you for that, I visit that thing weekly.

Best way to find out this early is to check out myspaces.

As of now I've seen that The Intelligence and ANAVAN are playing.

I want to throw an afterparty with a band, but I hear the SXSW are big on shutting down unofficial parties. Meh, I'll try anyways.

usually they keep a pretty tight lid on that shit until the last minute, but if you check out the website www.sxsw.com, they'll stick up the schedules. as far as non sxsw stuff goes, it's more word of mouth when it comes to backyard bbqs and that kind of thing. usually, casino doesn't host bands as a venue, but sometime's casino's band the sons of hercules will do a show out back on the patio w/ one of their friend's bands. last time i went down for it, it was the nomads and it was fucking great....
