I pretty much love everything about this crazy dude and all his wacked out cars, artwork, models, and pinstriping. But I had no idea the dude used to drive Hondas! This gives me hope as a driver of a bright red 1999 Honda CR-V myself (in fact, I'm considering a set of moon discs for the wheels right now). But I digress...

First, I happened upon his '73 N600 Coupe, which he obviously used to promote his pinstriping/customization business and is now on display at the Galpin Auto Sports “Ed Roth” collection alongside the Orbitron and more in Southern California:

Then, I came across a newer (first generation) Honda CVCC Civic that was listed on eBay several years back (I think it's a '76) and is on display in the same museum:

OK, for some reason we can't seem to get that photo slideshow for his first car to work on here. So you'll have to go to this link to view it:

      But it's worth it! :)

Very cool. Here's a couple images I've saved of some of his old advertising:

"Crazy Painters" business card, with their original address at 9001 Atlantic in Southgate.

Vintage ad for "The Crazy Painters" with Ed 'Big Daddy' Roth and Bud 'The Baron' Crozier (before Tom Kelly joined them). The best part: "Personally autographed picture of the Crazy Painters with each order, on request".

Skip Barrett's business card from Roth Studios, screen printed on thin sheets of Gelgo fiberglass, 1960s:

And I came across an amazing photo gallery on Flickr last year from Coop (the hot rod artist) on his collection of vintage Roth water slide decals, as well as show cars, old Monster Catalogs and more. Definitely a must-see for any Rat Fink fiend.

      A sad follow-up post:

That '73 Honda 600 sold for just $22,000 at auction in 2009. Sounds like a steal to me.
