Buzzzzzz Jimmy Gordon is one of my fave 45's, a great surf fuzz instrumental!

I've been under the impression for the last 33 years or so that the best 45 of all time is "Surrender" b/w "Auf Weidersehen" by CHEAP TRICK.

I can't think of the BRIDES without thinking of the time they played a matinee show up here in Green Bay and Ross and the boys got busted for drinking in the parking lot...by a BIKE COP. They were just sitting there, sheepishly, while a man in bicycle shorts dutifully wrote them a ticket in broad daylight. That took a little of the edge off their swagger that show, that's fo' sho'. I always thought their best song was their cover of "Everybody Needs Somebody To Love" by SOLOMON BURKE.

The Greenhornes Loving in the Sun / Your body, not your soul.

Amazing. The version of Loving in the Sun (A side) is the garage rock stomper (as opposed to the laid back acoustic version you hear most often). But the B side is the real corker. Their cover of Cubby + Blizzards "your body, not your soul" is simply my favorite cover song ever. And the sleeve is a nice recreation of the original from 1965.

And worth every cent for the stupid grin it puts on my face every time i play I Can't Hardly Stand It  or   The Way I Walk    or Drug Train   or...the list goes on. Way better sound then the original LP's i've owned since they came out.

I was able to get it for $80 Canadian  when it came out, so theoretically it should be way cheaper in Chicago....

Best single i've bought in ages times 10 cause there's 10 killer singles in the box. Really nice pressings (at least mine is, and i bought it when it came out late last year) where you can actually hear Lux breathing at times. It's on Munster Records and i've seen copies at a coupla local record stores recently, so there's still copies floating around waiting to be nabbed by the likes of you!

NICE. That image will always remind me of former funnyman , Dan Akyroyd as Tom Snyder and Mick Jagger as himself on SNL.

Totally agree with that estimation on the Brides 45. PC Action is my favorite Time Flys song too.

It's less open ended for me because I mostly just listen to Garage, but I think it's pretty easy after spinning for a while to tell which ones are good and which ones are pure genius.

I have been waiting for this one to come for like two weeks now... why are they doing this to me?

After obsessing over the hilarity of this vid, I finally found the single at the bottom of a crate at the local record shop. Only 3 bucks!

I found a nice copy of this for about the same price several years ago.

Favorite 45s is such a board question. One day it could be Motorhead - The Bomber, Next day VOM - Live at Surf City, then maybe T-Rex 20th Century Boy, on to K&K -  Quick Joey Small, Bobby Peterson - Mamma Get Your Hammer, Fun Things ep, Small Faces - Lazy Sunday Afternoon, Hollies - Look Through Any Window, Mickey Lee Lane - Hey Sha-Lo-Ney, Lemon Pipers - Jelly Jungle (Of Orange Mamalade).... too many to name.

I definitely think 45s are the best format. And as G. Wood mentioned, I too, unfortunately am obsessed with obtaining picture sleeves, but I am more interested in the music.

Most recently I've been buying bubblegum/ psych, and glam. But that's not to say I over look metal or punk sections.
