so.... today i was digging through some of my cherished '90s garage crud when i came across a stack of Zodiac Killers records. man, what a great band. got me to thinking... what old (thinking '80s/'90s/early '00s here mainly) "garage" labels do you miss thee most??? i gotta say the top two I can think of would be ESTRUS and RIP OFF. yessir, they both released some duds, but who fuckin' doesn't?!! i also miss the mighty garagepunk skronk of CRYPT RECORDS.

which ones do you miss the most..... or want to come "back from the grave"???

I had no idea SFTRI was dead... didn't they do The Ettes album last year?

Long Gone John was certainly proud to be a jerk, but he had an eye for talent.

You guys covered most of my favorite departed labels, but I also miss:

One Louder (UK)- sure, they put out that MOA? re-issue, but nothing new since the 90s

WorryBird Disk- they were small, but specialized in 7"s, which I'm addicted to

Iloki- surf label in the 80s, punk in the 90s, dead by 2000

SFTRI, Estrus and Empty definitely! I recall, also, Dog Meat from Australia was good one.

I'll second SFRI, Telstar and Boom Boom of Renton (& now I know why I never got my last issue or 7'' from the Fang Club...boo)

Certainly Estrus, Rip Off, and SFTRI.  By the way, Crypt isn't defunct.  They still put out new records.  Just put out an LP by Atomic Suplex a few months ago.

      Wormtone

Golly Gee (which, despite the name, was a pretty good surf label)

Yeah, I have some Planet Pimp stuff. That's a great tribute site!

That actually reminded me of another defunct label that I miss a whole lot... this one's not as old (from the early '00s), but Boom Boom of Renton has been gone for several years now, too. Damn. There's no tribute site for Boom Boom, but there is this, for what it's worth.

Thought of a few more: Voxx, Scooch Pooch, Hillsdale, Super Electro and Lookout!

I don't think Gearhead or Alien Snatch have released anything lately, either.
