    • I have to say that I liked the film, but I was looking forward for Ian Curtis to die, haha. I definitely don't think it is a must see.

    • I don't know, but the Dave Davies autobiography isn't very good. I'm thinking of getting the 33 1/3 series book "Village Green Preservation Society" book as it tells a lot about the band's working relationship, plus it catches them during a very cool period in their history.

    • Hi
The neck pickup of my Vox Bobcat is shafted. I can't even get it rewound as the casing is completely sealed and shrunken! Does anyone have a fucked up Vox lying around for spares? Please see the attached photo for the style of pickup. Please mail me if you can help me locate one...
      Cheers

    • Where do you get your inspirations? How do you write your songs? How important are things like originality and skill? Maybe I shouldn't ask that question. Oh well, just curious. I'm not a songwriter, but I wish I was. Maybe someday.

my username is disgusteen and I'm in the garagepunk room whenever I'm on.

    • What's your favorite fuzz that you are using?? Right now I'm using the Ashbass fuzzbrite, which is a mosrite fuzz clone. very nice buzz, but lacks a little bass when using a bright guitar or amp.

    • What services do you recommend that will let me:
      1) Create a stream-like player that allows me to just put the songs up like a real jukebox? (In other words, I can choose what I want to play when.)
      2) Have it randomize the order of play (like hitting randomize on an iPod), but possibly starting with my song choices?

    • Ha, I've still got Hell's Bent on Rockin'- possibly the worst cover art of any album I own!

It's a shame psychobilly didn't just drop down dead at the end of the eighties though. Kill it someone, PLEASE!

    • December 18, 2007 2:16 PM CST
    • You got it mate!

You forgot Hell's Bent on Rockin' (on Nervous)...

The thing is I'm nowhere near creating this online radio station (streaming or podcast) as I really have too much work at the moment. I hope to be able to do that some time in 2008.

Psychobilly these days is so boring. Nothing like the excitement of that time! In fact I lost interest in it when the really narrow-minded bands appeared, like the Klingonz or the Torments.

    • True, but why create a stream when you can create a stream-like player (like the GaragePunk Podcast jukebox) for a podcast? Then all you have to do is create the podcast. Kill two birds with one stone (not two). Seriously, with the options available to podcasters, it's stupid, antiquated, and a waste of time to create streaming audio files anymore. Just my two cents.

    • Damn! I was just going to post a comment saying, "What! No Purple Things?", and there they are at number 86.

Looks like the soundtrack of my mid-to-late teens, ie. Blood on the Cats, Rockabilly Psychosis and the Garage Disease, Meltdown, Psycho Attack Over Europe, etc.

    • My zine http://lowcut.dk had a radioshow most of this year on Christianshavns Kanal 98,9fm (reaching Copenhagen and Malmo - around 1,2 potential million listeners). Airs every sunday between 19.30 and 20.30 - although next sunday Little Steven's Underground Garage is hosting Lowcut Radio. We'll be back January 6th. Bands/Labels who send music for review to Lowcut magazine will most likely also be played on our radio, if the stuff's any good of course. Yesterday's playlist and Dec 9th, that should give you an idea of what Lowcut Radio (and the online zine) is about: Dec 9th: Functional Blackouts : Finger On You The Daily Void : (Surprise Surprise) Masonics : When You Cry At Night Modulo 1000 : Turpe Est Sine Crine Caput Forbidden Tigers : Son Of A Carnivore Dead Hookers : Technical Mortal Graham Day & The Gaolers : Get Off My Track Lightning Bolt : 13 Monsters Cynics : Here We Are Pyroman : Antisexy Satelliters : Hide Your Time Hell On Heels : Dogs, Records & Wine The Unheard : One Day Alan Vega : Viet Vet Dec 16th: Nathaniel Mayer : Doin' It Wild Billy Childish & The Musicians Of The British Empire : A Poundland Christmas Peter Pan Speedrock : You Do It Or You Don't Knugen Faller : Jeg Vill Inte Vara Med The Butcher Shop : Youth Culture Sucker Human Eye : Human Eye Monster Magnet : 2000 Lightyears From Home Resonars : Games Of Fear Om : Pilgrimage Black Lips : Bad Kids The Only Ones : Lovers Of Today Flipper : Sex Bomb Haunted George : She Told Me Her Name Was Lisa The Urges : You're Gonna Find Out
