Now if we kept the Hamburg Beatles I would be happy, what we got was a big money maker for the recording business and they played the game to a tee.  They were for the greater part performing monkeys,

Sure they turned in some good sides but science says if you get monkeys in a room with a computer one will produce a work of Shakespeare in time.  That is what happened with the Beatles, press record and once in a while something decent would be caught on tape, mostly there was shit throwing and banana skin slipping though.  

I blame the kids mostly for falling for it.  Their parents had WWII to contend with and Glenn Miller music still resonating behind the bombs of the invasion, Glenn said more without lyrics than the Beatles ever did on a cup of tea with the Maharajah. Glenn died for his art and country stopping Nazi stormtroopers and V2 missiles single handedly with his trombone.  The Beatles went to Germany and acted the fool ripping off American music.

The Beatles to me innovated nothing that was not already going on around the world, they were just an early musical karaoke machine for the kids just sensible enough to rip off, R n' R, R n' B, Folk Soul, Psychedelia... haha.... blah blah... and write their own lyrics to the stolen tunes.

I still have not made it through a whole Beatles record in all my years.  Without skipping a track or seven.  Believe me I tried to like the boys because the bands I love loved them.  But again the bands I loved were stupid enough to buy the music biz and press' propaganda....  

The capitalists hogwash.  Earn the industry money monkey....  OOOOHHHHhhhhhhh (shakes floppy hair and winks at camera cutely, sound like Justin Beiber???  )

The Beatles wrote their own songs... If Elvis is 'God' then The Beatles are definately 'bigger than God'!

Nope i can't think of any and RUBBER SOUL is still my number one fave rave LP.

However i can't agree with ya Elvis statement.There's a couple of late sixties and Vegas tunes i like but his other stuff is pant's to my ear's.

and-I -only-listen-to-sixties-bands-nobody-knows-because-I'm-so-special ".

I guess the BEATLES are ( next to the WHO and the KINKS ) the most 

cool, stylish and awesome band ever. They played in the same league

as ELVIS ... and ELVIS is GOD you know.

There's a great scene here in Santander. We're a small city, but there's a good metal scene and all the garagey-punk bands are doing something different to each other. Apart from us attempting our garage-powerpop, we've got Los Idolos Del Extrarradio (Idols Of The Suburbs) playing their new-wave pop and Soul Gestapo playing more classic blues rock.

The Idolos singer also runs a recording studio and has started The Drive Division Sessions where he's recording and filming local bands to put out a video each week (which is where the Soul Gestapo video was filmed.

We get a little over-shadowed by Bilboa, who get a lot more touring bands, but it's got a lot better the last couple of years with new venues opening and people like Lord Rochester passing through. There are a few small towns around the area as well that have great venues and have pulled in people like The Fleshtones, The Cynics and Tito and Turantula over the past couple of years. The TurboRock! garage festival at the start of September also brings us the likes of Mudhoney, The Bellrays, The Buzzcocks.

We're small, but comin' up and it's a great place to be instead of fighting to get your head above the parapet, like in bigger cities. There are a ton of bars that put on tiny gigs and if anyone's passing through, it's a great place to grab a gig, some grub and petrol money to keep you going.

Heard via the rumor-mill of the internets that they did do a reunion show recently in Toronto but not sure if that will lead to anything beyond that one-off...I wish they would completely reform (Sexareenos are my fav Mark Sultan band...& I'm a HUGE KK&BBQ fan)

Hey Ken... Great poster for your show! I will definitely check it out.

I wish we were able to have our shows archived... due to Australian 'community radio' and APRA laws etc, 3D Radio's particular broadcast licence doesn't allow us to either podcast or archive shows for later listening... we just do it 'live', both streaming via the internet and on FM/digital broadcast.

Sad but true... however, if you can work out the time differential, you can listen in to us...
